It's a Hampton Inn; a good, solid choice for no frills hotel stays with a predictable experience. The front desk staff at this location was very helpful at check-in and throughout my stay.
The Fitness Center was well lit, with many mirrors and personal televisions at nearly every treadmill and a full set of dumbbells to 50 lbs., which is a nice find in a hotel fitness center.
24-hour coffee by the front desk. This is a great idea and was very welcome.
My room smelled of mildew. The carpet was ever so slightly damp - not wet, but a little squishy. The mildew smell wasn't overwhelming, but it was just enough to make me not want to take off my socks.
The parking. This hotel charges an egregious $18 for a completely unsecured surface lot. I realize that the hotel is in the downtown area of a fairly large city, but charging $18 is a slap in the face.
The breakfast. Typically, I look forward to grabbing a quick continental breakfast at Hampton Inns. The breakfast at this particular location was not up to Hampton standards. The fruit was bruised and the breakfast area was downright dirty. I would not eat anything from the breakfast area.
Overall, my stay was adequate and mercifully, only for one short night.
