“Good Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

I read some of the other reviews, and was hesitant about staying at this hotel, but came away having had a good experience. Everything went smoothly, the room wasn't extravagant, but was comfortable, and the hotel, while huge, wasn't hard to get around, and there were ample dining opportunities within walking distance. Also, I had room service on a couple of occassions, and as someone who is a bit of a foodie, the meals were good. The one caveat to my experience is that I was upgraded, which may have skewed my experience.

Stayed there the weekend of Dec.16th. The hotel is amazing. Our first thought was the elevators were going to be really slow because the hotel was so large and tall. But we never waited longer than 30 seconds for one and we were on the 22nd floor. Roooms were spotless and smelled nice. We needed adjoining rooms and that was no problem, even though we didn't request them at the time of booking. Starbucks in the lobby was awesome. The MARTA and the Peachtree Mall are right there. Went to the World of Coca Cola, (withing walking distance) and on Sunday checked out and went directly to the Giants/Falcons game at the Georgia Dome. (abt a mile) I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend this hotel. 4 star for a 2 star price!

Get ready to walk...this convention size hotel is big and multiple levels! I love ghat they have a Starbucks on site, makes mornings and mid-afternoons easier to power through. The Marquis Ballroom
Is great for large meetings and the hotel service is good.

If you have vertigo this isn't the hotel for you, the elevators are fast, glass and you can feel yourself soaring or plunging. My colleague wasn't a fan of that aspect for sure.

The only two things I wasn't crazy about was: lack of restaurant choices. Just two which both are just okay. You do better walking a few blocks to Peachtree and going to Sweet Georgia's or the Ritz.

The second annoying bit is the elevator bank. Downstairs the decor is nice and attractive, however on the room floors the banks are in these ugly concrete coves that look more like service elevators than where I as a guest should go.

You can't get everything but overall good choice!

Stayed 7 nights in December due to convention at the congress center. Checked in on my birthday and was greeted by the front desk staff with HB and a comp dinner at the Sear restaurant. With my platinum status, was upgraded to a suite on the 45th floor. The suite was large with great views. The service from everyone was top notch.

If I could make one recommendation is that they could add some more selection to the breakfast in their concierge lounge. It was scrambled eggs and oatmeal for the hot selection every day for 7 days straight.

Stayed at this hotel after my plans fell through at another Marriott. Checked in on a Saturday. It was very busy. There was a mayor's masquerade ball going on there as well as the NY Giants were staying there.
Valet was extremely busy but the guys were very nice and efficient. I didn't feel rushed. Walking into the hotel you can't help but notice the architecture. Very pretty. The hotel was nice, staff was nice and I loved the Starbucks right in the lobby.
My room was clean and comfortable. That's all I can ask for.
The hotel was within walking distance to the underground and the Falcons stadium. As well as numerous restaurants. I was happy about that. If you don't want to pay for valet there are numerous parking lots near the hotel. For a great price.
Overall my stay was very pleasant. A little annoyed at the fire alarm testing on Monday morning but its nice to know that they make safety a priority. I would definitely recommend this hotel

This hotel is not cheap at $USD 225 per night but well worth it as it is a 20 min walk to the Georgia world conference center and right next to the Peachtree MARTA for trips throughout Atlanta. Despite the hotel's enormous size the staff are very helpful and reliable. There is a shop in the foyer selling salads and fruit so good provisions for those long conference days and the gym is excellent and open 24 hours so no excuses. The foyer of the hotel is breathtaking and the lift rides are ane xperience not to be missed.

Room Tip: Go as high as possible unless you get vertigo in the lifts!

Large hotel in downtown area. They have a well-run operation as they are used to handling large volume of guests. Rooms are clean, hotel smells good. You will spend lots on ancillary things during you're stay (parking, tipping everyone, snacks, etc) but its what I would expect. Good customer service, just don't be afraid to ASK for what you want. If you are not there for a convention I would be sure to ask if they will have large groups there during your stay. Sometimes it can make for an inconvenience if you are not part of a large group. Little tips like asking for a low floor (so you can take the stairs), etc can help you get along.

Good hotel....... I would stay again
