“Like sleeping in an airport”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Why does any traveller book a room at an airport hotel? Our only reason to consider it was to start a fourteen-hour day less fatigued and more rested. That did not happen. This was one of the noisiest and least comfortable places I have stayed at in years, not at all in keeping with what we've become accustomed to at Hilton-chain hotels. The staff seemed too few and overtaxed for a place this size, though most struck us as polite and professional. A light-bulb was missing; two other lamps bulbs had poorly working switches. The carpet in our room smelled bad. The tub showed signs of poor workmanship and chipping, possibly from attempts to make it drain less sluggishly. The faucet over the bar sink wobbled from loose plumbing. The terraces and walkways all have a scuffed, worn-down look and they shook the room when people came walking along outside our door. There was no bellman to move our luggage up to our room when we arrived. Most important of all, it was nearly impossible to get any sleep with the noise. The building apparently comes with very poor sound-proofing, inside and out. Every half-minute until late at night the windows and walls shook with the sound of landing and departing jets. All the rooms are arranged around a large hollow space that echoes with the sounds of the bar band at night (past 3:00am on a Tuesday) and the shouts and clangs of breakfast staff in the morning. We could hear neighboring rooms' plumbing and television; I wonder how much worse it might have been had we not been on the top floor.

Room Tip: If there is a side away from the airport, definitely choose that. If there are rooms that do not fa...

Our stay was ruined by a subpar stay here. We had stayed previously, but this time staff at breakfast was late, lazy and non attentive. The restaurant there, Moniker's is depressing and the food and menu were lacking.

I checked into this hotel on May 29th and I checked out within an hour. I checked into my room and it had an order to it that I couldn't bare, so I asked could I be moved to another. The front desk was nice and honored my request and I was moved to another room. When I got to the other room it had that same order, which I was going to deal with since it was only for one night, but as my nephew laid on the sofa he ended up with cat hair all over him and it was also in the carpet. I would think that most hotels would have guest with pets on the first floor. I refused to spend a night at this hotel and immediately checked out and made reservations at the Holiday Inn Suites Atlanta-Airport North, which is a better and cleaner hotel. The front desk employee tried her best to make happy and put me in another room, but I cannot stay at a filthy hotel. I didn't blame her for anything, because it was not her fault. This hotel is a disgrace to the Hilton Hotel Chain. This hotel needs major renovations and housekeepers who do their jobs right the first time.

As Hilton Diamond members, I've come to expect the best attention to detail from Hilton properties, but this hotel misses the mark. Upon check-in, we immediately saw there was no blanket on the bed and the pull-out sofa was not made up, nor were there pillows or blankets anywhere for the sofa bed. We contacted the front desk via phone to request those items, but they were never delivered. We finally had to go to the front desk at 11pm to get these items directly from the clerk. Even though the property allows pets, there are no designated pet walking areas nor doggie waste bags or even trash cans near the doors. The parking lot is littered with trash. The outside pool area has no appeal whatsoever, it's just a cement hole in the ground. They don't offer towels at the pool area, so you have to bring your shower towels from the room. The music playing in the lobby comes right through the door at night, and very loudly. Why do they need to play music all night? I just expect better from Hilton hotels. On the positive, the breakfast is great with omelets and eggs to order. Pet rooms appear to be freshly shampooed between guests. Even though the hotel is adjacent to the airport, the rooms are very quiet at night. The room was clean, just overall lacking attention to detail.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the ground floor, the music in the lobby will keep you up at night.

Stayed at this property for 5 days to attend a family reunion. There were approximately 50 people in our party. Although the hotel staff provided excellent service, the furniture and hotel is beginning to show it's age. The suites are roomy and more than adequate for a family of four. The location is ideal as it is close to the highway and hotel shuttle service to airport is quite convenient to get on the metro to take you anywhere to the major attractions.

The free breakfast service is excellent. The shuttle driver deserves special mention as I was traveling with my 88 year-old mother and the driver took particular care in helping get her out of the van.

It is obvious the hotel was quite a nice place when first constructed and the design is really attractive with room entrances facing a skylighted ceiling and open courtyard with fountains. The chef Joseph did a fantastic job with the food served at our family gathering.

The hotel has two pools: indoor an outdoor and a functioning gym. However, the gym was regularly occupied by teenagers who watched tv rather than exercised. Another problem, the hotel charges approx. $12/day for parking. In our case, it was $6 since we were there for a reunion with many guests.

All front desk, valet and dining personnel were very pleasant and really strived to keep the guests happy.

Overall, our hotel stay was nice. Hotel only needs to do some refurbishing and it would deserve a 4-5 star rating.

Room Tip: Any room would be good room. Keep in mind this hotel is at the airport so overhead noise from aircr...

This Embassy Suites has is a throw back to the 1990 in its decor and dated look. Its a bit humid and dank inside atrium but the rooms are comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful...about what I expected for southern hospitality. The meeting rooms are also dated but adequate. No real attractions nor eateries walking distance. Great airport location, but you could also hear the planes take off. Efficient place to stay, but not very exciting.

Room Tip: Get a room near the front of the hotel...if you're in back, near pool, you'll get AC compres...
