Great location. Typical Ritz room but smaller than Ritz resort rooms (like Naples, Amelia Island, Half Moon Bay, Reynolds Plantation). Did not like the small bathroom with shallow tub/shower combo. Didn't get club floor check-in as I expected through Amex Platinum. I ended up walking to dinner because hotel car was not available and they expected me to stand around the lobby to wait (wouldn't call my room to let me know when car would be available). I found this to be expecially rude because it was dark and they suggested that I (a female solo traveler) should walk. I stayed at the Westin last year (across the street) - it's not 5 stars like the Ritz, but is a better value for the money.

This is my first visit back to the Ritz Carlton in 3 years. I've stayed there 5 times in the last 8 years. (My husband attends an annual conference every December.) First, the service is impeccable. All staff I encountered from the bellmen to the valets were all friendly and helpful. Check-in was simple and quickly handled. Our king room on the 14th floor was an adequate size and nicely furnished, but the rooms are showing their age. The bedskirt was snagged. The end table scuffed. The bathroom tiles were chipped in spots too. It just doesn't look like a 5 star hotel any longer. The wallpaper and window treatments were the same ones I saw 5 years ago. Certainly, this old tired lady needs a bit of a facelift! The bathrooms are small although the toiletries are superb. All of the little perks are there, just the rooms need refurbishing. The housekeeping staff was wonderful too. The Ritz is in a prime location for shopping and great restaurants...try BluePointe and Emeril's, but it's time for some more money to be spent to keep up with the competition. Overall, I enjoyed 3 nights of luxury, but it could be even better....

My husband, two kids, and I stayed here the weekend after thankgiving on a layover. We choose to stay at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead because of the steller rating by AAA (20 straight years- 5 diamonds) and their restaurant's repution of being one of the top restaurants in America. We had much hesitation on booking here because of the very poor reviews on Trip Adviser (which are somewhat true).

The lobby is a bit small, but still very beautiful and elegant. There were many kids here because of thanksgiving weekend so we had no guilt in bringing are own kids. Our room was also on the small side, only 350sf. But the room was done in Typical Ritz Carlton Furnishings and had a very comfortible bed, no complaints there. The bathroom, as said by the reviewers on this website, was very small and definitely not done in Ritz Carlton style. In fact, it was exactly like the bathroom in the Holiday Inn we stayed at the previous night! The Ritz Carlton bathroom was not hideous or anything, but it only had one sink and no deep soaking tub. It had a shower/bathtub typical of a 2 maybe 3 star hotel. I dont want to sound snobby but this is what a Ritz Carlton customer should come to expect. By the way, is anyone noticing a theme of SMALL. That is probably because it was built 20+ years ago. I was also disappointed that they are no longer using the Ritz Carlton Spa Fresh lotion in the rooms. Though luckly they still sell it in the gift shop, I had to buy a years supply to take home.

The service was of course typical Ritz Carlton style. Everyone was friendly and helpful, not much more to say, I try not to take it for granted!

The Dining Room was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was so wonderfully presented and everything had so much flavor! It may be too exotic for some people but if you who appreciate world class dining you will love this place. USA Today and Mobil Travel Guide both rated it one of the top 15 restaurants in America. This place is certainly a can't miss.

Overall this is a fine hotel. Alot of my review is negative but I had a great stay. They may want to think about some sort of renovation but that would be very hard for the Ritz Carlton because the overall quality of the hotel is not that bad and it would be impossible to just renovate (expand) the bathrooms without altering the entire hotel's structure. I would stay here again because of the great location (right next to the great shopping of Buckhead), wonderful service, and top-class dining.

Lots has changed at this hotel. It used to be very nice and service oriented, but the last two times I stayed here it was stuffy, dated, and had a dead air about it. The club level amenities were just not worth it and the staff stood guard over the food and stared at us.

The food was no longer stellar either. I had room service breakfast one day, in the dining room the next, and had a special event dinner one night. They didn't have enough seats set out for our group during that, and I couldn't find a place to sit my plate down to cut my roast beef. The morning food was nothing special, and for $40, I'd prefer my eggs to be warm and tasty.

I never could get the valet to pick up the phone or the bellhop, so I had to lug my bags downstairs and wait for my car in a long line. The tv movies didnt work. My friend's shower head came off during her shower and flooded her room. Another in my party had a toilet that ran all night.

It just isn't fun there anymore, and you can have a much better, classier experience for the same price elsewhere. It's sad to see it go, but it did.

I left and went down the road to the Intercontinental where I enjoyed a happy, energetic staff, a clean room where everything worked, a HUGE bathroom witha separate shower and garden tub, and sitting room. They'll have my business from now on.

I booked the reconnect package at this Ritz Carlton in order to propose to my girlfriend over the past weekend. The hotel lobby and the service is definitely top notch; everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel. The room itself was rather disappointing. I almost felt like I was staying inside a room at the Holiday Inn or Best Western. The television was a cheap 27" Zenith that you find at the average 2-star hotel. The decor was no better. The bathroom was rather small and very plain. On the upside, the bed was very comfortable.

I would definitely recommend the other hotels in this area (such as the JW Marriott or Intercontinental) over the Ritz if you are looking for a romantic weekend getaway.
