4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2007

The hotel is really flashy and glamorous looking. Everything is super high priced. It is in Buckhead. The room was clean and compfortable. NO FREE INTERNET!!!! Are you kidding me? I can stay at a $30 hotel and get free internet, I come here for $200 and no free internet.....unexcusable.
Overall, it was really high priced and I'd try to look for discounts if I were to stay again.

Grand stay at the Hyatt! I liked that there was:

Taxi waiting outside
Shopping and restaurants nearby
A large bathroom
A comfortable bed with down duvet

I disliked the
Construction outside at neighboring buildings
Walk to some local restaurants (taxi!)

This is the second time we have stayed here in the past year. There is much construction surrounding this hotel, yet our room on the 21st floor was quiet through it all. The main areas of the hotel are simply lovely--clean and well maintained. The service is very good. What makes this location less than grand is first and foremost, the lack of an adequate self park area. It cost $15 for daily self park (valet is $22, but add tips each time you enter & exit). The self park is down a hill and in a garage across the street on the SECOND FLOOR. The first floor of the garage, AND the garage underground the hotel is reserved for valet parking. We checked in on a rainy day and rivers of water and mud poured down the hill we had to walk up in the teaming rain. The next day, the wind blew the dried dirt (from construction) in our faces as we walked to the hotel. If you are a single female traveler, you must valet park for safety reasons. The single threadbare robe needed replacement, the bed was simply unacceptable. they threw a featherbed on top to and it was lumpy. the heating/a/c was great, as was the hot water. loved the pillows. regency club at extra $50 night not worth the money, although you can't beat the convenience. It's not awful, but its not quite grand.

Great location (near Hwy 400 and not far from I-75 or I-85)....amazing lobby.....friendly staff.....and gorgeous room. I was in a king-sized room and didn't want to leave. The look, the feel, and the tone of the place was quite wonderful. We did a Priceline bid, and while we paid the $15 for parking---our bid price that landed us here made us quite, quite happy. I would stay here again and again.

We stayed one night in a king room at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta-Buckhead in December 2006. We found the room very clean and comfortable, and were very satisfied with the excellent service we received at check-in, and in the lobby lounge. The fitness center was one of the nicest we have ever seen in a hotel, and the locker rooms even included steam rooms and saunas. We were a bit disappointed, however, that the only swimming pool was outdoors, unusable in December. Cassis restaurant, on the lower level of the hotel, provided a lovely ambiance, first-rate service, and good food, but was a little pricey.

  • Liked — fitness center
  • Disliked — outdoor pool only
  • Tips/Secrets — book on Hotwire - less than $100/night!

Stayed here for one night after a long drive north from Florida after Christmas. I got a great deal from the bidding website, and when I checked the hotel's own website, I was astonished. I was even more suprised when I got to the hotel. The hotel was asking $200+/night for what I thought was a decent business class hotel. I've stayed at the Intercontinental and JW Marriott (both wonderful) in Buckhead, and the (Grand?) Hyatt doesn't hold a candle to either. Check-in was okay but delayed a bit, because you have to use the same credit care as when you reserved, which isn't displayed on the kiosk screen. We had a room on the 16th floor, on the corner, which was a good location, with a slight view of downtown, but mostly of construction next door. The room was decent, but is starting to look a bit dated and worn. The bathroom's toiletries had a weird smell, and we didn't use them. Parking was in a Hyatt garage across the street for $15, and it's an outdoor walk from the garage to the hotel, so be wary if there's rain or other bad weather, but valet is twice as much. Overall, I'd stay here for the same price again, but I'd much rather get the IC or JWM.

Just recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt and had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is located in the busy Buckhead area and is less than a 5 minute walk from Marta. The lobby is small but very nice and there is a lot of marble used in the hotel. The concierge is located in the lobby and is very helpful. On the ground floor is also the gift shop, bar, business center etc. Check-in was very quick and I was given a room on the 9th floor with a king bed. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. There is a closet and wetbar area near the door. The bathroom is nicely decorated in marble and is very spacious! The view I had was of mostly construction and the other buildings located towards the back of the hotel. There is a lot of construction going on around the hotel. It didnt bother me in terms of noise however if you are a light sleeper I would try to get a higher floor of face the other direction. Out front of the hotel, the sidewalks are being worked on all over the place. There is a lot of building going on on Peachtree St. The walk to Marta or the malls can be a little tricky, though it is manageable. They do offer a car to take you pretty much anywhere in Buckhead. There are also numerous restaurants located around the area, so eating somewhere other than the hotel isn't too hard. I never ate in the hotel, only used the coffee bar once. The hotel also has a very, very nice gym that is open 24 hrs and is no charge to guests. The machines are great and they provide headsets to watch tv, chilled towels and water. Also, there is a seperate mens and womens locker rooms with steam/sauna. The pool area looked nice, though it was closed for the season. The hotel has a garden area which is nicely done and the waterfall is a neat feature. Overall, the Hyatt is a good place to stay and is one of many upscale hotels located in the area.

  • Liked — The Grand Bed!
  • Disliked — The view!
  • Tips/Secrets — No need for a car, use Marta!
