“Nice hotel in a great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2011

My husband and I stayed here last weekend for my birthday with our two dogs. We have been to Atlanta numerous times, and each time we try to stay in a different area of town to explore. We decided to bring our dogs because we got a good deal on the hotel, and liked Hotel Indigo's no fees policy on dogs. The hotel was nice, and all the staff was courteous and helpful. There are plenty of places within walking distance nearby. We ate at The Varsity, MF Sushi, and The Melting Pot and enjoyed all three. A CVS is 3 or 4 blocks away. We had a king room with a view of the Fox. If there is an event there, there will be lots of noise for about an hour after the show lets out, so be prepared. Otherwise, our room was quiet and quaint, but not too small to be functional. The parking was $18 per day, which I didn't find to be too outrageous because I have paid more in other cities. If you're going to stay in town, you're going to have to pay for parking.

My only complaint about the hotel is there is virtually no space to walk your dog. There is a small plot of "grass" which in the winter is mulch, but this area is right by the car/taxi pull up which virtually always has cars in it. We had to go several blocks to find actual grass for the dogs. I understand the hotel is downtown, so green space is limited, but it would've been nice to know this beforehand.

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us... and hopefully your pets did too! Unfortunately, due to our location in the heart of the city, green space is challenging. If you are ever in the city during the warmer months, please stay with us or visit our renowned "Canine Cocktails" event with your dogs... it's a very popular attraction, and a blast for all!

We stayed at the Hotel Indigo over a Saturday night after seeing a show at the Fox Theatre. The hotel is at a excellent location across the street from the Fox. There are a number of restaurants with in easy (10 min) walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small, but well kept. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very small, but clean and functional, with a shower, but no tub. Our room faced away from Peachtree and we could hear very little street noise. Hotel guests can park in deck behind the hotel for $18 per night. We will definitely stay there the next time we go to an event at the Fox.

We stayed here for New Year's Eve and booked the hotel last minute. The only rooms left were wheelchair accessible, so that is what I am basing my review from. The room was very very small and somewhat old looking. The air conditioning units were very worn and tattered, and the mattress was not comfortable. The fixtures and decor of the room was nice though. The shower was very odd (most likely because it was wheelchair accessible), but everytime we took a shower, half the bathroom floor would get soaked due to the narrow shower. The walls were also very thin - I could hear conversations in the next room clearly. I know this is a pet friendly hotel, but if you don't have a pet with you, the smell alone is not worth it. I love staying at Hotel Indigo, but this was my least favorite hotel experience.

Stayed for 4 nights with spouse who was in town on business and I LOVED this hotel!

Many reviews cite the tiny bathroom, and yes, it is small (I have seen smaller in Seattle, NYC, etc., and with boutique hotels, this is the coming trend!), yet very functional. The shower is very roomy and I loved the terrazzo flooring, much nicer to step into than a fiberglass pan. Of note, our room had a long (4foot+) table and large mirror right outside the bathroom, in vestibule of room, which was ideal when you are two, as this makes for a great makeup/hairdrying/cosmetic laying area. I actually liked this setup much better than having a large 'shared' bathroom. I would assume that all rooms have this feature (yet no reviews mention it).

Nice decor (loved the white furniture), textures and bedding, very soothing, Very airy and large room (we had a standard King). Our room was on the 9th floor and the ceiling was 12 feet+ high, which made it even airier in feel. Loads of storage. Floors are imitation wood plank/vinyl and not hardwood, but a great alternative to carpet. Good black-out on drapes, very comfy bed, but nights when there was a show at the Fox could get a tad noisy with taxi whistles (but overall, this is a very quiet sector).

Considering the generous work space and free-wifi, it would have been nice to have a place to safely store at least one laptop, but this comment applies to most hotels. Hopefully, hotels will start incorporating this feature as we often travel with 2 laptops.

We had breakfast in the lobby twice, a nice, quick fix (croissant breakfast sandwich is yummy, plus Starbucks coffee), yet did not try it for dinner. Lobby is beautiful, as is large patio with pergola at the front of the hotel (although I personally would head straight into A/C areas in an attempt to cool off!). Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Scale of the hotel is very nice, cozy (not over-sized/anonymous). The fact that this was a dog-friendly hotel worried a tad, but I did not notice (or smell!) any dogs during our stay.

Location-wise, you cannot ask for more. Steps from MARTA, grocery and drugstore 2 blocks away, situated mid-way between midtown and downtown, which made exploring the city (walking to HIGH/botanical garden or dining downtown) a breeze. Day and night, we felt safe in this sector.

Only gripes: no mini-fridge, which is practical in Hotlanta, and no room safe. Access to a small deposit box is available if you ask at the Reception (but you have to pass through staff every time you want access).

I would stay here without hesitation in the future!

Thank you for staying with us, we are pleased that your stay was enjoyable, and glad to hear that you would/will visit us again. Unfortunately, we do not have laptop safes in each room; however, we do offer laptop safes through our Front Desk - so, please ask about this complimentary service when staying with us. Also, mini-refrigerators and microwaves are available upon request, through the Front Desk. Again, thank you for staying with us, and we look forward to your future visit!

This hotel is very convenient if you are going to a show at the Fox. So nice to be able to walk across the street afterwards instead of driving somewhere. The rooms are small, but are very clean and comfortable. The only down side is the in-room coffee which is horrible, but they do have a small cafe downstairs where you can buy Starbucks.

Hotel has a pretty good location on Peachtree Street and is a few blocks from Georgia Tech. Rooms are small and the bathroom the smallest one I've every encounted in years of extensive travel, both super budget and higher end. You could literally use the toilet and lean over the sink to brush your teeth. It would be physically impossible to have more than one person in the bathroom at a time. Flooring in room was faux hard wood and beginning to come apart in places. Wireless in room was excellent and the bed was great. For the price and location, there are other options in Atlanta. Lobby restaurant had a limited breakfast menu, but what I had was fine and they serve Starbucks coffee. I put in a wakeup call and it did not happen.

I'm not a frequent traveler to Atlanta, so I can't say what I would compare this hotel to, but I had mixed impressions of this hotel. It's certainly nicer than most chain hotels, but it wasn't as cool as the other Indigo hotel I stayed at in London. In general, the service was just a perfunctory and not very warm. The place seemed maybe too overwhelmingly oriented to pet owners and not regular folk. I stayed on a B&B package but there was a lot of fine print as to what you could get for breakfast which was a strange and dodgy coffee bar in the lobby. Parking was on-site and very expensive so park on the street if you can, there seemed to be meters, so that a mistake of mine. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and the TV and cable worked great. Some people complained about the bathroom, it was small but actually the shower was quite nice and the aveda products are a plus. My partner used the gym and was pleased. There is a computer in the lobby but was always occupied. Location is good, close to many things. Value for money was ok but not exceptional. Check out was pretty efficient but I had to call PC to get my points retroactively credited, which never, EVER happens to me at any other IGH property. Not sure I would stay again here, seems like the Palomar is a better choice for this kind of thing if you can get it for the same price.

Thank you for your review, the information provided will be beneficial to us in making enhancements to our brand. Hotel Indigo Atlanta Midtown is the flagship hotel for the IHG brand, and has successfully grown to become internationally recognized as an industry leading boutique brand... we are pleased that you've had the opportunity to experience the brand at one of our newest properties in London. Our acclaimed pet friendly accommodations are definitely one of our most unique amenities; however, we make special efforts to ensure that details such as our comfortable beds, warm and inviting decor, and finer touches (such as our Aveda bath products) create a relaxed and memorable stay for our guests. We invite you to stay with us again, should your travels bring you back to the Atlanta area - our friendly, knowledgable staff is more than willing to help make your stay a pleasurable one.
