“Old School Apartment Living In Buckhead”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

The staff was awesome, friendly, and so courteous! I felt like I was living in someone's apartment, not a hotel and it was great We even had a secret extra bedroom! Parking was tight in the lot, but there was plenty on street parking in a charming neighborhood. Why stay in a cookie cutter hotel, when you could stay here!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mediterranean Suite on the haunted 3rd floor, but only "lost" a brush and...

We loved this place and will definitely go back! The people there were very friendly and accommodating. There is a small private parking lot behind the building so parking is free and off the street. Our room was huge and we loved the European style decor (hardwood floors, cute chandeliers, huge french door leading out to the balcony). There was even a separate room with a vanity and whirlpool. Sure, the place is old, but that was one of the things we loved about it!? Nothing was in serious disrepair, everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was so quiet the entire time we were there! Very romantic, loved it.

Room Tip: Third floor is haunted! Some suites have whirlpools :)

The location is good. It is a straight shot (about 8 minutes) to the High Museum of Art. Although old it has charm. However, many aspect need to be updated. There is a kitchen, but the refrigerator door was sooooo rusty, I almost left immediately. The bath room was clean, but toilet seat was worn. People were very friendly. It just needs a lot of updating.

Room Tip: Don't set your expectations too high.

If you stay at Hilton or any other big name brand hotels and want everything to be immaculate, this is not for you. This is an old apartment building converted to Bed and Breakfast. I loved the "apartment" style - large living/bedroom, small cooktop and oven and fridge in the kitchen and a small dining table and chairs. No cooking utensils are provided. The room was large and simple and all the rooms have a balcony The location is perfect - quiet street just off of Peachtree in Buckhead. Continental breakfast included. Parking is great in the back or on the street.
I'm from New Orleans, so I love old buildings. I was in the "leopard" room which I liked, but it was a bit overdone. Three different "leopard" wall papers and also african artifacts. With a little love, this room could be not a "theme" but a lovely old Southern style room - richer colors . . . less "animal" decos. They fold the towels into animal shapes on your bed - very cute. Everything was adequate - not deluxe. I felt comfortable and safe here and was close to where I needed to be and convenient for dining out. I would stay here again.

What a fantastic find right in Buckhead. A huge suite, very comfortably furnished. The kitchen in the suite was not operable, but was not needed for a one night stay. The walk in closet is the size of most hotel bathrooms!

There is a difference between "character" and needs repair/replacement! We have stayed in many B & B's and this one is not even in the same ballgame as any before. Poor standards from the check-in experience to the room furnishings. Put your money somewhere else.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel/B & B

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I booked a reservation based off the photos and total reviews. We were disappointed from the moment we walked up to the front door. If you are into Victorian like architecture and antique furniture this place is for you. The building needs major renovations since the walls were peeling, water damage, cracked ceiling, and the balcony was a fire escape connected to other rooms. We just did not feel safe in this hotel and we were uncomfortable with the overall feel of the room. My husband spoke to the manager about our disappointment and he would not refund our stay. We contacted hotels.com who refunded one night, but we are out of pocket over $100 since we had to stay elsewhere. I would suggest another hotel.
