We used to love this restaurant but the service has really gone done hill. Its a shame because the food is good.

My husband and I ate at Vine Restaurant on Monday October 22, 2007 for the first time. We live nearby in the Morningside/Highland-Virginia area of Atlanta and had talked about eating here but had never tried it. We were so glad that we did. Vine has an extensive 17 page wine list and on Wednesdays they have wine tastings for $10 - according to our server if you stay for dinner after the wine tasting they apply the $10 toward your bill. The menu includes meat and cheese selections that can be tried as an appetizer i.e. one, three or more selections. We did not try the cheese or meat but did try the homemade potato chips accompanied by a goat cheese dip and it was fabulous even better than Buckhead Diner's chips. I had the trout which was very tasty and my husband had the pork with a pear glaze that was absolutely devine. I would definitely recommend this dish. We shared a bottle of Rose because I like white and my husband likes red wine (a compromise). The bottle of wine as I mentioned earlier was half price. Our service was very good. The wait staff kept our water glasses filled and warned us when we went to share a chocolate mousse that it was served in an espresso cup and might not be enough for both of us. It was fine for us because we were both full from dinner and only wanted a taste but I would have been perfectly happy to have had an appetizer and the mousse along with my wine. A great choice for a night out
