“Nice Aquarium But Expected More”

Georgia Aquarium

My husband and I went to the Georgia Aquarium expecting much more than what we saw from the "largest aquarium.' After touring the entire place in a relatively short period of time, we looked at eachother and asked, "Is that all?" In our opinions, the cost is a bit pricey along with the parking fee. We much prefer the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga to this one. On a more positive note, the facility is lovely and well maintained. I'd recommend a one day only visit.

We went there to to to to many kids you could not enjoy yourself.... I do not know if they have different times that school kids to come but, they should! This causes problems for everyone so you pay the money and stand behind 10 kids that have never seen a fish before

We heard about this Aquarium on tv. It's the largest aquarium and we thought it would be a good stop to make. We went on a Monday in the late morning. It was so crowded! It was hard to enjoy when there were so many kids. The kids were plastered to the glass so its hard to get a good look at the fish. But they had a good variety. I have been to a few aquariums and I didn't think this one was any better than the others. The 4-D movie was fun though, you'll definately have to check that out!

“Great weekend”

My family of 4, two adults and two teens, spent a weekend in Atlanta GA in July. We stayed at the Omni Hotel right on Centennial Olympic Park. We did the aquarium package the hotel offers. The aquarium is right on the other side of the park and World of coke is adjacent to the aquarium. This is a wonderful weekend trip for any family with kids of all ages. The aquarium is breath taking the exsibits are the best I've seen. This is perfect for a quick retreat.

I had high expectations for the "biggest and best" aquarium in the US. It is indeed large. The layout of the place is nice, especially for groups, because all the exhibits circle around to a main hall, so it is easy to find members of your party if you get separated.

There were a few nice things...the beluga whale exhibit was beautiful...the glass wall with jellyfish behind it was nice, and the river otter exhibit offered excellent views of these playful animals both above and below the water. My husband was most excited to see the whale sharks, and it was a first for us, but a little disappointing because they were not as big we expected. There were many touch tanks, which was nice, and I even got to touch an anenome, which was interesting.

The 4D movie was awful! There was no plot to the film, the jokes and characters seemed to be just a rip off from Disney's Finding Nemo. The songs were annoying, and the show really didn't make good use of the 4th dimension special effects compared to the show at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. I would NOT pay extra for the premium day pass...skip the movie!

I would also have to agree with the other reviewers that there is not as much educational content at this aquarium compared to others I have visited.

Finally, the parking garage for the aquarium is a LONG walk from the main entrance, and it costs $10. to park there. There are many other garages and surface lots in the area that are closer and cost less ($5.-$7.)
