“Small rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

Stayed here for a week for a conference. The rates were reasonable and the location was very convenient to Emory. The rooms are small. Heard the hotel will be razed within the year to make room for new retail and residential project.

Room Tip: Ask for a lower level room unless you want to walk the stairs.

“Well-placed property needs upgrades”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

We spent two nights in the Emory Inn and were disappointed with the run-down condition of this well-located facility. When we checked in, two light bulbs in our room were blown and the entry door stuck and was difficult to open. The finishes in the room were worn and the entire place needed renovation.

The people who we dealt with were helpful and friendly, so this helped to improve our overall rating.

“Emory graduation - just a place to sleep”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

We stayed here for Emory graduation. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms even tinier. The sink faucet is so poorly placed that water runs all over the counter. The hotel is clean, beds are good, and the staff was friendly. The Inn does need to improve their service for graduation, which of necessity starts very, very early in the morning. They should have warned us that what they called "breakfast" was a muffin, not nearly enough to get us through 6 hrs of graduation. Couldn't you provide some hard boiled eggs??? But the advantages of staying at the Emory Inn are that it's near the Emory campus, and you can use the facilities of the Emory Conference Center near by. The conference center is gorgeous, with beautiful decks to sit on, wonderful grounds, good restaurant and bar. So for the cheaper price, you get some added benefits.

“Okay hotel, excellent restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

I was booked here by my work because it was more affordably priced than the Emory Conference Center Hotel next door. The Inn is really a serviceable place to sleep and bathe when you have business nearby; no frills, but a friendly staff. The lack of frills includes no wireless internet service. The rooms have an ethernet connection, but the supposed wireless connection in the lobby was so slow it was pointless. The biggest negative at the moment is the construction going on right next door. The noises (including forklifts beeping) started precisely at 7am and didn't stop until 5pm. The best feature of this hotel is the restaurant, Le Giverny. After an undercooked pizza at the conference center hotel the night before, I decided to splurge on the slightly pricey Le Giverny. It was, simply, amazing. Wonderful food, good atmosphere, and subtle, live music. Salad, entree, a glass of wine, and dessert was about $42, but worth every single penny.

Room Tip: Until the construction is complete, ask for a room as far away from it as possible, probably on the...

“Stayed at better, stayed at worse”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

We went to Emory University to check it out as my daughter will be attending college there. Stayed at the functional Emory Inn. Nothing special about this place, but for about $110 per night, the convenience of being next to campus made it bearable. Furniture was old; faucet on the sink was placed poorly, so that when you turned it on, the water ran onto the counter, unless you turned it up all the way; bathroom was small, small and smaller; free breakfast was coffee or tea with minimuffins;
Made reservations to stay next door at the Conference Center next time.

Room Tip: terrible phone and internet reception in rooms on first floor; don't know if better on higher fl...
