Owner description: The museum features a display on the history of money; interactive, multimedia exhibits explaining the Federal Reserve's role in the economy; and a view of the bank's automated vault and cash processing areas. In addition, most group tours include a stop in the bank's boardroom. A tour of the museum provides in-depth lessons on the role of the Federal Reserve in the U.S. economy. Then, you can take a look inside our cash-processing operations, where millions of dollars are counted, sorted, or shredded daily. You'll also get a glimpse into the bank's automated vault and see the robotic transports that do the heavy lifting. The Monetary Museum will be closed for maintenance starting Monday, July 1, until further notice.

“Very interesting and up to date, mainly for adults”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

I was worried about wasting time at this place but we were not disappointed. It is not big but very informative for adults, kids would probably get bored quickly.if you are willing to take time and read the displays the you can learn a lot. A lot of the displays are very up to date with technology and interactive with touch screens. It is amazing the amount of money that place goes through!

“So that's where the money goes - or comes from”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

I really enjoyed the Federal Reserve. They had a series of short films that explained everything you might want to know about how the Federal Reserve was created, and how it functions. There was also a very interesting display on money through the ages.

“Very informing and educational”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

It took a while to get to see the place but was well worth the wait. If you want to see what's happening at the Fed's Reserve Bank this is the place to do it. The people were extremely nice for government people.

“Controlling The Currency”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

The Federal Reserve Bank plays such a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the flow of currency between bank depositors within the city, region and country. The area where the building was located has changed so significantly over the years that the architecture appears outdated in comparison to newer construction.

“Federal Reserve”

I loved walking through the museum and I even got my own bag of cash (shredded, of course). The artwork and the antiques in the building are beautiful.
