“Great Anniversary Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Stayed here last month for our anniversary and it was one of the best decisions of the weekend. Room was spacious, very clean and welcoming. We received a complimentary bottle of champagne for celebrating; that was perfect! Great views from our room, great drinks from the Bourbon Bar and excellent desserts from Southern Art. Overall excellent place to stay. Comfortable walk to Lenox as well.
Only gripe is valet cost.. yikes!

Room Tip: Great views upper levels

Stayed here for a girlfriends getaway in June. Stayed club level and would do again--Higher floors, better view. Overall very pleased with amenities-actually we never left the premises! While. Pool area is not the St. Regis, it's a good 2nd--gets busy in summer so get your chair early. Have bar and food poolside. Relaxing atmosphere.

Thank you for the oh-so-kind review, 1morecontinenttogo! You know, it makes me smile to hear that you and your girlfriends had such a good, relaxing time with us – all without even leaving the hotel. Given the recent summer rain storms we’ve encountered in Atlanta, I’m also happy that you had the opportunity to bask in the sun at our recently updated second floor pool deck. With the new lounge furniture the area is prime for a little well-deserved relaxation! Thank you again for taking a moment to share your thoughts and we’re looking forward to welcoming you (with or without the girls) back again soon.

Arrived late to a very warm welcome by the valet guys and bell boys - Kenneth, who looked at me and saying, " how did you think you were going to carry all that luggage!! What were you thinking??!!" He laughed as I had said noooo I'm fine!! I can manage! Lol he made me laugh what was I thinking!!
He brought us to reception and said goodnight, and handed us to reception, who was just as helpful, happy and friendly. He told us all about the hotel, how it's all local artists who produce the artwork on the walls, and suggested where to visit in Atlanta. So upset I'd already eaten as the chef is Oprahs old chef!
The hotel is pristine. Beautiful and the room is so comfortable with a great view of the city!
Ultra comfy bed - a huge plus in my book! Great nights sleep!
Breakfast was good - we were late but when we asked are you serving breakfast, I heard just what I wanted to hear, 'we can make it happen'
Thank you to Jermaine who took us to the restaurant and asked if it was still available
Eggs benedict was good, but the breakfast potatoes which came with were old and looked to have been standing and reheated. Sad as was the one downside. Hubby had a cheese and sausage omelette which he said was great!
Overall an outstanding hotel, full of the most helpful and happy staff. Nothing is too much trouble here - loved it and highly recommend

Well thank you for the “perfect” review, Smiletravels. I’m so pleased that we had the opportunity to exceed your expectations as this is—really and truly—our ultimate goal. As long as it’s legal it’s our pleasure to accommodate requests of any type, any time! You mention the local artwork that is found throughout the hotel, and I’m glad you did as this is just one aspect of our local “In The Know” philosophy. From one-of-a-kind local artwork to regionally inspired culinary creations, we inject a subtle dose of Atlanta into every facet of the guest experience. And, most importantly, you’ll always find endless Southern hospitality during your time with us. Thank you again for your comments. Stop by and see us again soon.

We've stayed here several times and always love it. The rooms are beautiful, the bathtubs are fabulous (the orchids are a nice touch) and the service is great--friendly and unpretentious. The parking cost always kills me, but we stay here anyway. Great place.

Beautiful orchids and friendly service – this sounds like a win-win to me! Thank you for submitting a review of your experience, Jane J; we certainly appreciate it! We’re always intoxicated by the smell of fresh flowers, and for good reason. Unlike many other hotels, our multi-talented housekeeping department assembles each and every arrangement on-site on a daily basis. This allows us to provide the freshest flowers possible. They are indeed incredible! Thank you again for being a loyal guest of ours and we cannot wait to have you come back and ‘smell the flowers’ again soon.

We have stayed here several times for the Peachtree road race and fireworks on the 4th. The location can't be beat because you can easily walk to the start line, walk from MARTA at the end of the race, and see the fireworks from the pool or hotel room (king rooms). We are always impressed with how clean the rooms and common areas are. They have new furniture out by the pool that makes you feel like you are at a tropical resort in the middle of downtown. We've eaten a couple of times at the restaurant which is wonderful. Had a great time.

Room Tip: Kings rooms have a view of the fireworks and the double rooms have a view of the race.

Thank you for taking a moment to let us know your thoughts regarding your recent stay, Ajf611. I’m pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience and had a wonderful Fourth of July celebration! You are correct, we recently added all-new resort-style furniture to our sparkling pool deck. In addition to the new furniture, we offer all-day food and beverage service (a frosty daiquiri, anyone?) during the summer months; a tropical oasis in the middle of bustling Buckhead indeed! Hopefully you had an opportunity to sample our special Fourth of July cocktail from Bourbon Bar, the Bourbon Bar Snow Cone. It was absolutely delicious. If you’re interested in staying “in the know” with all of our events and promotions, I’d love to invite you to follow us on Facebook. Also, be sure to check out our just announced Southern Art summer BBQ series! Each Wednesday we’ll offer a rotating style of Southeastern BBQ on our lovely terrace. Thank you again for the review and we’re looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Rooms are small but clean. Hotel amenities scarce. However, activities at he hotel fantastic. My son enjoyed festive atmosphere because of 4th. Rain did not dampen fun. Southern Art was a major disappointment. The restaurant was a 3 star and the servers below par. Son found hair in his fries nd they blew it off. Said it was string. I would stay again but would not eat at restaurant.

Greetings from Atlanta, Tonimihos. I want to thank you for taking a moment to submit a review of your experience as we value feedback of every kind. I appreciate your comments regarding the cleanliness of your guest room! Additionally, while we all were a little ‘bummed’ by the endless July 4th rain showers, we did enjoy moving our holiday festivities indoors. Offering guests a refuge from the storm, our complimentary InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta Kids Club was a hit, complete with live entertainment and screenings of feature films. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed it as well! I would love to discuss your experience with you personally. Please email me at intercontinentalbuckhead@ihg.com at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing from you and we’re looking forward to seeing you again soon.

My wife and I stayed at the InterContinental Buckhead on our way to Florida for vacation.

First off the hotel is very beautiful, the front desk portion of the lobby opens up into the main lobby that houses the bar and restaurant.

Check-in went very smooth, no issues at all and the agent we encountered was super nice and friendly. We had a room on the 15th floor which offered a good view of the local sites outside our window. The room wasn't a suite, just your standard room however the bathroom is where you really notice that you're in an InterContinental hotel.

The bathroom offers a full tub and separate shower stall but there's a lot of room to move around. The counters and floors are marble which screams luxury. The room also offers a massive LG HD TV with digital cable, a mini-bar, and a large closest in case you have to stay awhile. The mini-bar is a nice touch but be aware that even picking up a bottle will result in the item being charged to your room. The prices are high but we expected that and didn't open it the remainder of our stay.

We did go the bar downstairs which is actually called the Bourbon Bar and offers tons of different bourbon's if that's your thing. We had a great waitress at the bar too. In the same area as the bar is the ham bar. The ham bar has tons of expensive ham's you can have sliced and enjoy with a drink in the lobby. It's something that is unusual but in a good way however we didn't purchase anything from there or the restaurant, Southern Art.

We forgot a few things for our vacation and needed to go to CVS which was convenient because there was one about 5 or 6 blocks away. Let me also say that traffic in the whole Atlanta area is bad however in Buckhead the traffic is beyond awful and most of the locals we talked to said it was always horrible so if you need to drive from the hotel to anywhere plan WAY ahead.

Just a few notes on the extra charges you may encounter. Internet is not free which isn't unexpected however if you're a Gold or Platinum member of Priority Club (now called IHG Rewards as of July 1st, 2013) you should get internet access free. Self parking is $22 and valet is $32 and with the self park option the front desk gives you a card to let you in and out without being charged which is a nice feature.

Overall the hotel was great, I'd defiantly stay here again and recommend it to just about anyone!

I can’t thank you enough for the kind review, RockJock4. As a AAA Five Diamond hotel, our goal is to go above and beyond for every minute details of your stay, including offering superior amenities and elegant touches throughout our hotel. I’m so happy that you mentioned the guest room bathrooms as, in my opinion, they are the best of any hotel in Buckhead. Oozing with luxury—while not being stuffy—our bathrooms offer a deep soaking tub for relaxing (bubble bath, anyone?) and a separate walk-in shower for maximum flexibility. Regardless of which option you choose you’ll find yourself surrounded by local North Georgia marble and high-quality, all-natural Agraria bath products. Again, thank you for taking a moment to let us know your thoughts. We certainly hope to see you again whenever your travels have you return to Atlanta!
