“Nice hotel but very pricey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Stayed at the InterContinental for 3 days. The bathroom was very spacious and the tub is very huge. The bedroom was just ok, expected a lot more for the price. Internet is NOT included ($10/$15 bucks) and parking is costly. Overall, it was a good stay because of the location to Lenox Mall. If you don’t mind paying, then go for it.

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Intercontintal in Buckhead for my birthday. It was such a nice weekend. We loved the view of Stone Mountain from our room on the 16th floor, and we absolutely loved the French restaurant, Foot of the Pig (but the name sounds much better in Frendh lol). The lobby is beautiful, the rooms were very nice and the beds were super comfy. We got massages in the spa and ordered pizza for room service. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: We really liked the view from a high floor

Birthday getaways are so much fun and very special, I am so happy that we were apart of that. The view of Stone Mountain, a world class piece of granite is most definitely unique and beautiful to enjoy. So glad you enjoyed the amenities the hotel offers. We can't wait until you join us again.

We've stayed at many of the upscale Buckhead, Atlanta hotels over the years on 'getaway' weekends, yet this was our first stay at the InterContinental. It will not be our last!

We booked through Hotwire -- great rate, but the room offered did not come with the view or amenities we desired, so we upgraded to the Club Level for $100. In our opinion it was well worth it. The view from the 19th floor was excellent, and the Club Level lounge offered free wifi, heavy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, wine, soft drinks and dessert in the evening; and a very nice continental breakfast in the morning.

The hotel itself has been recently renovated, and the interior appointments and amenities are first rate. Our room was spacious and well layed-out, with a large separate shower and oversized bath tub. It also came with robes, slippers, mini-bar, large screen LCD TV, and -- a great touch for us -- wine glasses! In our opinion, the bedding and linens were among the best that we've ever experienced at any hotel in all of our travels. Very, very comfortable, cozy, and quiet. Another nice touch was the turn-down service, which included chocolates and a filled ice-bucket. More importantly, our every engagement with service staff members was warm, friendly and helpful. This really enhanced our stay.

As others have noted, the hotel is ideally situated in Atlanta's Buckhead area. Thus, it's an easy walk to Lenox or Phipps Plaza mall, numerous upscale eateries, and the Marta stations. The hotel has a nice central garden area which is very relaxing and inviting, along with a small pool. Spa services are also offered.

We already look forward to our next get-away weekend here!

Room Tip: While the upgrade cost to Club Level may seem expensive, it may be worth it for the extra amenities...

Very nice hotel in very nice location - rooms really nice, but paying over $50 for room service continental breakfast is a real stretch. Tip..... Ask for cost of upgrade to club level which comes with breakfast - if there are 2 of you and it's cheaper than $50 per night for the upgrade then take it!

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and our hotel. Our club lounge is a very special bonus to our hotel with the offerings of breakfast, light snacks, beer & wine, and gourmet coffee. Guests always enjoy lounging around in the club while enjoying the view. We hope you return to visit us soon.

I love this hotel. It is beautiful, well mainicured grounds, spacious and clean rooms, food is great BUT I find it so strange that the bathrooms in the lobby areas are not handicap sensitive. The toilets are so low and there are not any railings in the stalls. I did mention it to the desk on a visit in 2011 and found nothing had changed in 2012 despite some renovation work.

Thank you for your kind review and for enjoying the hotel's amenities. We did go through a complete hotel renovation last year which included updates on all our of our handicap guest rooms. We do have handicap bathrooms in each of our lobby bathrooms with support railings on the walls. The issue might be that they are not signaled as handicap although the width of the door is wider for wheelchair accessibility. I will contact you through your personal mail to assure you of our high interest in your satisfaction with your comment.

Stayed here for a weekend retreat and loved the Club Lounge. Highliy recommend the $75 upcharge for this benefit. Parking was easy and rooms have a nice feel to them, There were weddings on Sat evening and so the hotel was bustling w/ energy. Close the malls and food made it convenient as well. Definitely recommend this hotel for business and/or a weekend break.

Thank you for taking time to write this review - we are pleased that the Club InterContinental Lounge was to your satisfaction. Weekends here at the IC Buckhead are a change of scenario compared to the business crowd we cater to during the week. We love being a hub for special events and helping create memorable moments in people's lives. So glad you enjoyed the stay and we look forward to having you back.

I've stayed here many times while in town for business. The service at the front desk is always very good and the price is reasonable. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the wireless internet is fast for a hotel. My only tiny point of caution is that the beds are very soft and fluffy, so if you like a firmer mattress this may be a problem. I dined at the new restaurant for dinner last time I was there and found it to be average. I probably would not go back to the restaurant but will continue to look to this hotel as my top choice in Buckhead.

Thank you for being a loyal guest. Please let us know next time you come and we can get another mattress of ensure a harder bed, our goal is to ensure a great night’s sleep. Do give the restaurant another chance – just slipped in the fall/winter menu and the butternut squash soup or pork belly sliders are to die for. So glad you enjoy many aspects of the hotel. We look forward to your next visit.
