“What'll Ya Have?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Good burgers, hot dogs and onion rings at reasonable prices. The place has been serving Atlanta since the 1920's, so they must be doing something right. Eat at the drive-in or inside. There are a lot of dining tables, but it gets crowded quickly.

“An Atlanta Food Icon! A must visit for a downtown visit!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Yes, it's fast food. No, it doesn't have ambiance. It's greasy, it's unhealthy, and it's so very good!!! I've been going here since the 1970's. It's a popular place after Georgia Tech games, or on the way to/from a Braves game. Their specialty are the chili dogs; chili burgers; onion rings; and the orange shakes. I rarely have room for their delicious home made peach pies. A visit to Atlanta is NOT complete without a stop at the Varsity!!!

“Overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

The service was great. Our server was very attentive. However, the hot dog and cheeseburger were not very good. The chili tastes likes it came out of a can. That's what made the food taste bad. Apple pie were good, so was the shake.

“a must do when in Atlanta”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

first went to the varsity many many years ago when kids were small, and now they are 21 & 22 and still going. The last trip in April took my brother there and he loved it!! said it was worth the drive from Valdosta. He's a foodie and knows his stuff, and he gave the varsity the thumbs up. Even took home some cans of the chili. Even tho i'm vegetarian I eat the fries, rings and peach pie yumm and an orange shake. Fun atmosphere, always crazy busy, but fun. Wait is never that long, and the drive thru is fun too..those old times been there forever :)

going to the Athens Varsity in August...hope it's the same !
