“A taste of Southern food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

For someone who is not from the south, this was a great opportunity to try foods not available elsewhere. Everything from Mint Julep to collard greens and fried chicken. Great food for good value. I would recommend this if you are looking for old fashioned southern fare. This is where the locals go.

“A Cute Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

This is a hidden jewel. I visited Mary Mac's with 2 of my cousins. We were all impressed. It's like having dinner in someone's home. I loved the atmosphere! The food was great, too.

“A great example of Southern comfort food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Mary Mac' Tea Room is what it is - no fuss Southern comfort food. Don't go there expecting fancy table linens, molecular gastronomy, romantic ambiance, or business diners in bespoke suits. This place does all of the Southern classics like fried chicken, greens, mac n' cheese, sweet tea, dumplings... without any embellishments like Italian white truffle oil. It is what you would expect at a family Sunday supper in the South. The service was excellent, attentive, and polite. And the prices are affordable as indicated by their web site. They have parking off of Myrtle Street too.

“Somewhat ok if you have no choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

The starter was good with the crackling but not much else. The bread pudding was a major disappointment. It was just sugary syrup and flour.

“Thought I was in Heaven!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

If it is superb southern food you have looking for - this is the place. Vegetables were prepared perfectly and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Banana Pudding was to die for...
I have read some of the previous reviews and it sounds like they went to a different restaurant.
The entire experience was clearly a "10'!
