“Tasty southern greasy spoon”

Went here with locals and couldn't have been better. Excellent black bean cakes, coffee, biscuits, eggs, grits, homemade everything.

We didn't need to eat again until dinner :)

“Excellent food and biscuit's.....even if they don't fly.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

I went for lunch on a Saturday around 12:30 or 1. There was a wait of about 20 minutes, but it wasn't too bad at all. We waited in the bakery portion of the business and purchased cookies and muffins while we waited.....all of which were divine!!! I got the Coca-Cola BBQ glazed Salmon with Mashed potatoes and green beans. This dish came with a side salad and biscuit. the biscuit was excellent but was drier and less salty than other biscuits in the south, but was a great change as a result. They used the same split biscuits for the peach shortcake for dessert as well which was simply but very good and flavorful. Lastly we got a side order of Mac and Cheese that was grilled. We got it mostly to see what "grilled" mac and cheese was. It looked almost like a grilled cheese sandwich. It was literally a ball of M&C squished down on a flat top grill. It was good and interesting but needed more cheese which I doubt the grill would have allowed for. Highly recommend.

“The Original "Biscuit" is Still the Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Having gone to the original "Flying Biscuit" for many years and then visiting several of the other locations scattered around metro Atlanta, my heart is still with the one that started it all. Although most other locations keep much of the same menu, they digress from some of the basics.

Although located on the outskirts just east of downtown, it is easily accessible. Head to the "Little Five Points" shopping and restaurant district about five miles from the downtown expressway (I-85/Ii-75 connector) Then proceed about a mile or so on McLendon

Once at the restaurant, make sure to try the Fried Green Tomatoes - they cannot be beat and we have only come close at one BBQ restaurant in Elba, Alabama The entrees are well prepared and will vary depending on the week or time of year. We have never had a bad meal. As a side trip, (whether you agree with the politics or not) you can go to the Carter Center only few miles away. Also, the "Little Five Points" area has a number of eclectic places to see or grab a drink.

“Fantastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We go to The Flying Biscuit every time we visit our family in Atlanta. The food is fantastic I had the chicken sausage lasagne prima Vera and I'm just sorry I didn't bring some back to New York with me but I did bring back some biscuits. Make it one of your stops.
