My daughter and I went on a Saturday evening, with reservations. The restaurant is across the street from historic Oakland Cemetery, which is cool (in my book anyway). Complementary valet parking is provided. The atmosphere was rustic and intimate/casual, and the place was full. Our table for two (which was waiting for us) was almost shoulder to shoulder with the tables on either side, but my initial concern was quickly forgotten once we got into conversation. The roaring fireplace provided warmth and atmosphere on that cold night. We were served complimentary chips and salsa (salsa was top notch, with a kick). Even so, we ordered the avacado and smoked trout salsa and chips as an appetizer and it was awesome (I totally respect anyone who can come up with a dish like that). For an entree I had the Diablo Crawfish Pasta ( it must have bben good if I can still remember the name) and my daughter had rigatoni, which also had a delicious spicy kick. We split a banana cheescake desert. The service was great considering the packed house. I now am planning to take my wife there.
