“Nice staff + shuttle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

This was my first experience with a Hyatt Place and I absolutely love the Hyatt Place Atlanta Downtown! They provide a complimentary shuttle within 3mi which is basically a cab for you. The staff was also very nice and the rooms were large, clean and comfortable (they include a microwave and refrigerator).

Major thumbs up.

We stayed one night this past weekend. We were just coming to enjoy the CityPass for two days. We arrived at 9:30am on the day of check in. We were allowed to park in the gated lot and enjoy breakfast before we left out for the day. There is a parking charge of $22 a night and the lot is rather small but we found parking easily. The staff and location are both great! Walking to the Aquarium, etc. is not that bad and they do have a free shuttle. During the day the shuttle was fine and normally only had to wait 10-15 mins. Although Saturday night it did take us to Mary Mac's Tea Room and when we called for a pick up we were told it would be at least an hour! I called the hotel and they sent a taxi to pick us up and they pick up the tab!

Our room was very spacious with a fridge and microwave. Only bad thing with all Hyatt Place's I have stayed at is the tiny bathrooms! There was a window in the shower and we opened that for the feeling of a little more room! Bed was comfy. We stayed on the top floor and there was still a lot of road and outside noise, but it is downtown Atlanta on a Saturday night.

Breakfast was great! I had booked another hotel at first and so glad I decided to change my reservation to Hyatt Place.

Pros: Location, free breakfast, great staff, free shuttle, clean comfy rooms.

Cons: Slow elevator, small bathroom

Room Tip: If staying on the weekend request a higher room is road noise bothers you at night.

Hyatt Places are a great value in my mind. The breakfasts always include warm items such as pancakes and eggs plus juice and fresh fruit and the eating area is always clean and pleasant looking. The rooms are very spacious, the desk/work areas are well organized with ample electrical outlets, it is easy to connect Wi Fi and I sleep very well in their beds.
The hotel provides shuttle service to dinner spots nearby the hotel and they took us and picked us up from an excellent dinner at Mary Mac's. There are several very good restaurants in the immediate vicinity and the hotel was an easy walk to our conference.
Marina at the front desk is very helpful and efficient. She had all of our reservation information in front of her and seemed to anticipate our questions. The check-in took but moments and she had a method of storing our bags after check-out.
I will look forward to staying there again.

Room Tip: Covered parking is available for $10/day. Turn right out of the hotel's front door, right at th...

Truthfully, I cannot comment on all the amenities as we just needed a place to sleep for the night. We arrived very late (almost midnight) for our 1 night stay. It was nice to find gated parking on site so late at night and not have to drive around looking for an alternate location. Our room was much bigger than where we stayed previously; however, it was in need of some updating. Paint was peeling on the bathroom door (I assume due to humidity). The carpet felt damp in areas by the TV and front door. There was a "hair" on the blanket located on the sectional. Since it was so late and the blanket wasn't being used by us, I didn't say anything to management. Our room served it's purpose. The beds were comfy. I could hear talking thru the walls; but, not loud enough to keep me awake. The breakfast the following morning was good, plentiful and well maintained (eggs, sausages, grits, toast, pancakes, fruit, cereals, juices, etc). Plus, we had free wi-fi. Only had a slight hiccup in paying for the room. When we arrived, I gave the front desk a gift card I had for the Hyatt; however, she did not deduct the amount from my bill. When I pointed that out, she said I would have to get it straightened out in the morning before checking out. Not sure why she couldn't correct the bill as I told her about the gift card before she charged my credit card. The clerk in the morning was able to resolve it timely.

Great location is right. It's right off the interstate and being that you're downtown And they offer a free shuttle to take you places downtown= perfect location. The room was spacious & clean and the bed very comfy. Their breakfast was tasty and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Just stayed at Hyatt Place on Peachtree. Perfect location, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Nice choices for breakfast and snacks. The guest room was spacious, with a separate sitting area including a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Two MARTA stops within walking distance and the price was right.

Room Tip: all rooms are fine.

From the moment we arrived we were very impressed. Really friendly and helpful staff at check in and throughout our stay. Car parking on site is $22 per day which seemed at first to be a little steep but we subsequently found this was actually pretty much par for the area (one garage claiming $5 per day, with an additional $18 to leave it for the night i.e. $23!). Hotel is really well located, immediately next door to Max Lagers restaurant, a few blocks to many other restaurants including the Hard Rock, and a 10 minute walk to the Olympic Centennial park, World of Coca-Cola, Aquarium and the Sky View ride thingy. Breakfast was serve yourself and pretty comprehensive, no complaints at all. Yeah, okay the bathroom was a little snug but this didn't detract from the stay and overall we were very pleased with the service, comfort and location and would not hesitate to stay here again.
