“Good stay if you snag on Hotwire or priceline”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012 via mobile

Great deal on priceline about $65 all in with tax and fees. Room was updated and met all needs, lobby was nice enough and the basement bar is very fun.parking is expensive and scary. Overall would stay again If the price was right, would not be as excited if I paid the rack rate of $139

I recently stayed at this property when in town for a conference at the GWCC. I wasn't disappointed with the hotel, but wasn't incredibly impressed either.

I was on the 28th floor (Executive Floor), which nicely is off the beaten path, but the corridors and executive lounge were rather warm. (It's tough to keep open spaces at high levels cool in the heat of an Atlanta summer.) Room accommodations were to be expected, but I don't believe there was anything remarkably different in the rooms on the Executive Floor as compared to the other rooms.

The executive lounge was nice to have available, but here too, nothing remarkable about it. (To be frank, I've had better food and service experiences at Hilton's lesser-priced Homewood Suites properties.)

I almost exclusively stay at Hilton properties when I travel; yet on my next trip to Atlanta, I'm not sure I'll choose to go back here.

Room Tip: High-level floors are warm.

The staff was friendly, accommodating and seemed genuinely interested in lending a hand. This hotel is conveniently located to a MARTA station (within two blocks, an easy walk) and, unlike past trips to Atlanta, relatively free of panhandlers along the way. But the public areas of the hotel need a deep cleaning. Things like using the crevice tool on the vacuum in the corner, window washing and vacuuming/washing the chairs and tables on the Executive Floor. The Executive Floor feels much better at night than during the afternoon/before sunset as the Sun from the West creates a pretty strong greenhouse effect, making it difficult to sit and enjoy yourself. I'll stay here again, as I like Hiltons, but hope that the property managers undertake a thorough cleaning of the public areas so I can rate this hotel "excellent."

Great staff, decent location, convenient to the highway. Room isn't large by any standard but it was quiet, bed was comfortable. Two things I'd critique though:

1./ Television remote. Major PITA to change channels. Small issue but with several seconds of delay when you push a button and then having to push it 3,4,5 times to get it to actually do what you're asking, it's irritating.

2./ Be careful in the shower. The water pressure is outrageous. Apparently, Hilton's philosophy is that by stripping the first couple of layers of skin off with water pressure a firehose would be envious of, you won't need soap to get the dirt off with. Turn the water on and watch the tub fill up because the drain literally cannot keep up with the tub or showerhead flow.

Hilton, seriously, consider maybe a different faucet design (so the guest can dial down the water flow) and maybe investing in $5 low flow showerheads. I cannot imagine that they WOULDN'T pay for themselves in reduced water use within the first week.

Other than those two minor things, great stay and I'd be glad to stay again.

From the doorman, who filled us in on all of the amenties in the hotel, to the valets everyone was friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. Although empty dishes sat on the floor across the hall for far too long. Good location-easy to get to.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the elevator shafts.

It is always disappointing when you would like to give a great mark after staying 5 nights anywhere and you are shocked by few things and you can't give them the mark. They just don't deserve it, I don't care how nice Allison the manager can be sweet and nice. She is not the whole hotel. Few things bad maybe but important.
Let's cover first the good parts.
Great price through Expedia. I am sure same price with Tripadvisor.
The manager is nice. She went out of her way to book a Tennis pro that wanted to show up when the one they proposed stood me up. It was the next day but she tried.
The hotel was crowded with Amgen executives and Dr's who were hiding they were with Amgen. I guess I would hide too if I was a drug dealer, legal or not.
Their security service tried to talk to me as I figured out they were Amgen and was questioning how I knew. I gave him the NY answer. I let you figure it out.
This morning for breakfast they run out of food and the staff disappeared. Peculiar.
Overall ok, the price, the service. Oh, beware if you book with a 3rd party and they don't get the fax right away if you add a couple of days, they will leave you out of your room even if your stuff is in the room. I waited for an hour.
IN the summer they close one of the restaurants so they really have one plus the bar. That is ok, since there are a lot of restaurants in the vicinity. But still.
Try the Hyatt in Atlanta.

This is the nicest Hilton I've ever visited. The staff was friendly and courteous, service was quick and efficient, there are 8 elevators so there's no waiting to get to and from your room... and even the food in the restaurant was good. Can't complain about a thing.

Room Tip: Avoid a room too close to the elevators, particularly on the floors where there are lounge areas. Th...
