“Fantastic Business Retreat Next to Emory U”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Hidden in the woods off the main central road of Emory U is the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired Emory Conference Center. The staff is very helpful and knows returning guests by name. The rooms are large, up-to-date, and have very comfortable beds and pillows. The conference rooms vary in size based on the need of your group. Off of the conference rooms are open breaks areas to get drinks and snacks in between meetings. The served food is outstanding and some of the best hotel food I have eaten. There are multiple other amenities such as a pool, small work out room, bar with a six lane bowling alley, and 2 dining areas. It is convenient to Hartsfield airport and is walking distance to the center of Emory's campus as well as the hospital.

Room Tip: I had a corner room on the 3rd floor overlooking the entrance of the hotel that may have been larger...

The Emory Conference Center and Hotel offers beautiful lodging that is not only convenient to Emory's campus, but also to many areas of interest in downtown Atlanta, including The Carter Center and Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, Piedmont and Candler Parks, downtown Decatur with its vibrant music and restaurant scene, the Bohemian and hipster Little Five Points, and the charming and yuppie Virginia Highlands.

The hotel itself is beautiful - it was very clean, and the staff were extremely courteous. In fact, when I walked in the hotel to check in I received a demonstrative greeting from a kind concierge welcoming me to Atlanta and the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Atlanta.

I was here for a professional conference. The conference center and hotel were OK. Clean but not real up-to-date. The conference room was adequate but had several technology issues. Hotel lounge didn't have very good service and offered a very limited menu. Nice exercise room and lap pool. Nice sitting areas in the lobby. Nice place but nothing special.

I didn't stay at this hotel, just attended a conference. It was very nice. Charming mission furniture and ambiance. They kept us sated with complementary waters, sodas, snacks. The buffet was mediocre. And the amphitheatre temperature fluctuated between "hot flash" and "oh my god, where's my parka?"

Room was so overwhelming with "cleaning fluid/febreze" that it took your breath away and gave you a headache. What were they trying to cover up? Common areas of the hotel were nice, Setting was lovely. Actual rooms a bit dated. No in room pay for view movies. Hotel dining room did not have as good a selections as the in room service menu. Were told when we ask in the dining room they came from different kitchens. Could they not have delivered it to the dining room as easy as our room? We did not want to eat in the room, but wanted things on the room service menu. Cheese plate in the dining room was good, crab / corn bisque was good, calamari was so/so. It was nice you did not have to pay to park and that the hotel is so close to Emory University Hospital which is why we stayed there. Got a good rate so it was an ok value, but would not stay again because of smell in room. Tub took forever to drain. Bed Mattresses were o.k.

After visiting many sites in search for a room in short notice we were glad we decided on this location. From the man at the front door, front desk staff, wait staff at breakfast as well as cleaning staff, we were treated in the same fashion. It is obvious that management has it together! Thanks again, we will return.

We headed to Georgia, preschooler in tow, for a weekend getaway. Got a great rate at this hotel and it was a pleasant stay. We searched for a hotel with an indoor pool for our 4-year-old. It is an older hotel but clean and the staff was very nice. The pool and fitness center were nice and clean. Would stay here again definately!
