We booked this reservation months in advance. We reserved a room for 2 adults and 2 children. We were planning to take advantage of the hotel's park anf fly program. We guaranteed our reservation with a credit card for late arrival. We arrived at the hotel around 7:30 pm , and upon checking in, we were told that the only rooms they had available were ones with one king bed. They did not have any sofa beds or roll aways. The young lady checking us in stated that we were just guaranteed a room, and one with two beds is simply a preference....How can that be a preference? We have 4 people and just 1 bed. We ask to speak to the manager. He was both young and unprofressional. He stated that our room had been given to some folks attending a conference in the hotel. He said basically the rooms with 2 beds were "first come, first serve." The hotel did not offer to help us locate another hotel or offer any solution to our problem. In fact, they attempted to charge us $6.00 for parking during our attemped check in. When my husband ask the manager if he was not going to offer us help securing a room in another hotel, he simply said they were all booked. We drove out, turned right into the Marriott Springhill Suites, and were able to find the perfect room with airport parking! I was very disappointed in the Marriott Gateway and their staff! If a family of 4 books a room with 2 double beds, that is a necessite not a preference!
