Great show, went with a large group and were able to get backstage tour after the show. They do great work. Loved the show.

“Next to Normal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

Great small venue with most seats having a good view. Have see many productions here over the past twenty years.
However, the only show that really blew my mind in the past few years was A Christmas Carol. They do a fantastic job on that play each year.
Back to Next to Normal, which had some catchy tunes. I do not understand why the music drowned out the singing. The actors seemed to have great voices, but I could not tell since all I could hear was instrumentals. Staging was great with the dining table etc. that came on stage and then disappeared, and the house that opened up.
I attended most of the plays staged here last year, and cannot recall any of them that really impressed me except A Christmas Carol.

“Apples & Oranges Play at the Hertz Alliance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

A dynamic 2-person, dialogue-only play. Excellent character development of two polar opposite siblings unable to listen or understand each other's perspective based on their past, and the events that bring them together for an emotional reunion. A moving performance by both actors with a sensitive ending. This small theatre is excellent for productions like this.

“Great house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

This is my favorite venue for a play, especially a musical. There is not a bad seat in the house. It is quite intimate but I never feel cramped. The outstanding talent of the theater staffs shows in the costumes and lighting.

“What I Learned in Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Must see play at the Alliance....did not stop laughing. Crystal Fox is outstanding as Evie. I have had season tickets for 12 seasons and this may be my favorite play. Although the setting is 1973 in Atlanta the play trancends time. More about love and growth than history.
