“Fun place with a great beer selection!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

This is a great place to visit especially if you like beer. They do not have a very extensive food menu but what they do have tastes great! Their beer menu is phenomenal. They have almost any beer that you can think of. It also has such a fun atmosphere. I will definitely be going back.

“Really good option at LFP”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Three of us were able to get in an out before a show at Variety Playhouse when we couldn't even get in the door at Vortex. I hadn't heard about this place, but I was really glad Vortex was packed. The mussels appetizer was excellent, and the fries were super as well. It really reminded us of Moules Frites in France - the bar itself has a bit of that european feel, being long and narrow and cheek to jowl with patrons. I had fish and chips, which were crispy and really tasty, my friend had the black bean burger which he was enthusiastic about. My husband ordered the Buffalo Shrimp Po Boy, which was a heavenly creation, full of well prepared shrimp and bursting with flavor.
The beer list is amazing.
It does, however, lean heavily to the hoppy, something which didn't thrill our group, but 2 of the three of us did find a satisfactory brew...
Definitely will be back here when I'm in town.

“thumbs up!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

They have a very nice selection of beers on tap. The food is also very good. Sausage is excellent; tasty, not greasy or salty. Especially liked the service. Instead of the usual annoying "how is everything?!" in the middle of a bite, the waiter stopped by when my beer was getting close to the glass bottom... and the next was arriving in a minute! Very enjoyable experience overall. Highly recommended.

“Spend an afternoon here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

We love to go to The Porter on Sunday afternoons and just spend a few hours trying new beer and people watching. The Vintage beer list is very unique and on our last trip we decided that we are going to totally stick with the Vintage list on our next trip. The bartender, Joe, is extremely knowledgable about every detail of the beer they serve right down to the actual brewing and aging process. He even gave us a quick tour of the cellar where the Vintage beer is aged. This is a very cool place!

“Awesome place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

Oh my gah!! Got the goat cheese fritters! They were a-maz-ing! Fried goodness with a drizzle of honey...savory and sweet. And their beer menu is the [--]! I've never seen so many beers! They also have a vintage beer menu with beers up to $320. Gotta try that one day when someone else buys it. Definitely try this place!! Very crowded and you sit very close to others. But that is what makes it great, you meet some really cool people.
