My wife and I stopped in Atlanta on the way to our final honeymoon destination. I mentioned when I booked the trip that we were coming for our honeymoon and they couldn't have done more to make us feel special.

First we were upgraded to the presidential suite in the penthouse! WOW is all I can say about the room. When we came back from dinner, chocolate covered strawberries, grapes and champagne were waiting for us. Incredible!

Everyone from the guys who greet you when you pull up to the front desk staff to the cleaning crew are super nice.

Definitely, definitely would advise people to stay here!

It is hard to find a decent hotel in Atlanta. I have actually only ever found two The Nikko, Buckhead, and The Swissotel, Buckhead, and neither exist any more, the replacements are not nearly as good.

We generally choose The Marriott if we are stuck, because they have such legendary comfortable beds. (Even though the fabulous old foam mattresses have changed now to pillow tops).

This hotel is old and tired. We were on the concierge floor, a room with a balcony, but not much of a view and no desire to go out on the balcony it was too noisy. The bathroom smelled, the air conditioning was erratic and noisy and the bedclothes were damp. I know hotels are cutting back on the luxuries, cheaper toilet paper, fewer towels, no wash cloths or shower caps in some hotels, but to cut back on the drying of the bedclothes is carrying it a bit too far, this is the third hotel we have been in where the bedclothes were damp. We had just flown back from Italy and had been 18 hrs on the go, by the time we discovered the bedclothes were damp we were too tired to change rooms, so I used the hair dryer instead which worked very well, at least I could sit down to do it.

The staff tried very hard and I am sure would have changed the room if we had only had the energy. Everyone is very friendly, kind and helpful, and genuinely seem to want to make our stay comfortable. For a short stay this hotel is OK.

When I walked into this property, I was a little surprised at how dated the lobby decor was, but from the time I approached the front desk I was delighted by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility.

The location of the hotel was central to our planned activities. It was 5-10 minutes by car to Turner Stadium, and was an easy 10 minute walk to the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola. Buckhead is a 15 minute scenic drive down Piedmont.

I would definitely return to this hotel the next time I am in Atlanta. It is a great value for the price! If you are there on the weekend, ask for the "Stay for Breakfast" package - It includes breakfast AND valet parking for your stay.

We are loyal Marriott travelers and I usually trust Marriott to be clean and comfortable with comfy beds. But this stay was terrible.
We pulled up to an old looking building and the valet parking attendant that eventually greeted us looked so unhappy with his job that I felt uncomfortable giving him the keys to our car. We stood in the lobby for awhile with our bags and when we pushed our cart to go up to our rooms ourselves, a bellman jumped into the elevator to finally take over helping us to our room. The hallway to our room smelled like mold or something stale. The room was small and the beds looked like they were covered with wrinkled bedding. The pillows were paper thin. The towels were rough, paper thin and small!! The floor in the bathroom was dirty! The tub was FILTHY and didn't drain. There were stains on the walls. The ceiling looked like there was a leak at some point.
When we checked out, we reported complaints to the conceirge and she was eager to do anything make us happy. This was very nice but at that point, we already decided to move to another hotel.
On a positive note, because we are Marriott rewards members, we were able to use the concierge lounge which had a nice home feel and beverages and desserts for us to enjoy.
If you are driving into Atlanta, I would recommend staying in Buckhead, or somewhere else closeby with complimentary parking, because parking here was $30/day.

This hotel is HUGE!!! The lay out has an atrium in the middle and makes this hotel seem even bigger. If you even the slightest vertigo I would stick to a very low level floor. The rooms were average hotel rooms but were clean, well appointed, and housekeeping was timely and good. The location of this hotel is great. Walking distance to lots of dining and downtown attractions. The meeting/conference space is massive and the service during meetings was fantastic. There are a couple of on site dining options and both are truly excellent. The gift shop has lots of snacks including ice cream and even beer and wine. The front desk staff was truly helpful and gracious. I was very suprised that such a large hotel had such personal service. I would stay there again.
