“Lovely Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

Lovely hotel conveniently located directly across from The Fabulous Fox. Massive suite. Friendly staff from the doorman to housekeeping. Bar, restaurant, Starbucks all located within or attached to the hotel. Valet or self parking in the deck. Easy in and out to I75. It was clean and comfortable with great views of the city. Reasonably priced. You can't go wrong especially if attending a Fox event.

Room Tip: Room 1800 is huge!

This was my second stay at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. This visit was with my daughter for a mother daughter weekend and show at the Fox. I love the beautiful marble in the hotel, the history and the first class focus on customer service. The roof top pool and view of the city is magnificent; the P&P bar is nice and Livingston's restaurant was excellent with prompt service. Overall an exceptional experience with a deep southern commitment to service!!

Had the good fortune to enjoy my second stay at the Georgian Terrace. This is a beautiful place and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We were extremely late checking in after attending a performance at the Fox. The staff was cordial and helpful even though it was a hectic time. The bellhops are eager to be of service. The valet parking is a plus because finding a place to park in Atlanta is a problem. If you want to stay in an Atlanta hotel after a show at the Fox, the Georgian can't be beat!

We love this hotel. It is full of character -100 years old and interesting history. Bright lobby with lots of natural light. Great bar in the basement P&P (Proof & Provision). Swimming pool on roof open 5.30 am to midnight. Fabulous views. We swam at sunrise. We got a wonderfu, massive suite, having expected a standard room. It's also really central - walked down to Piedmont Park. Opposite historic Fox Theatre. Breakfast was included in our package. All staff very helpful and friendly.

I stayed one night at the Georgian Terrace on a business trip and the hotel staff was very friendly, rooms where very clean.

I was upgraded to a suite because all of their standard rooms where booked out which was nice. Had a separate living area with a couch, fridge, and work area. The bed was comfortable and noise was not an issue.

Only real complaint about this hotel is that their are only two elevators in the lobby and they move slow. Expect to have to wait 5 minutes when going up in line in the lobby for an lift to show up. Same when headed back down. For a hotel of this size I would expect at-least 4. Not a huge deal but a bit of an annoyance when you need to get somewhere .

Room Tip: I stayed in the front section which has views of the FOX theater. I found this enjoyable but if you...

Whether our stay was impacted by the turnover of management that occurred at the time of our stay is hard to say. Except for the bellman and concierge who actually seemed to enjoy working there and sharing the hotels history, the staff was edgy and generally rude as if perhaps their jobs were on the line and servicing the customer was pointless.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a terrible view of the adjacent hotels rooftop. Having booked well in advance, I called the front desk, was confronted with a grudging I'm too busy for this attitude and decided immediately to cut our stay to one night instead of three.

While the bed linens were fine, the bath towels were less so, worn thin and malodorous. In a historic hotel, you expect the furnishings to be different than in a more modern one - this place however comes off as just Old.The available kitchen in the suites isn't furnished with so much as a glass and the peeling linoleum and dankness made us leery of stepping into it.

Aside from the looping TV of the hotels history, there's nothing available to read either in the room or at the front desk to guide you thru the hotel history or floors. We wandered about to get a feel for the place from the rooftop pool, street side patio, downstairs bar and though we encountered staff along the way, no one smiled or offered any insights on the hotels history, What a shame as this is the richness of this place sitting across the street from the Fox theater at the edge of Midtown. We took a cab to the Symphony then walked back- it's a bit of a hike so would take advantage of a closer hotel next time around.

Stepped next door in the morning for a coffee at their on site pseudo Starbucks- waited 20 minutes for 3 coffees, the staff person there actually told her manager in front of everyone that she was ready to go home- it was 8 am.

Tried to let them know of our experience before writing this review to give them a chance to explain, the receiving clerk offered no information and though was told I'd get a call back from a manager, it never happened.

Last words - was overbilled from what I booked on line by $ 89. Surcharges - I expected the parking fee though not other add-ons. The next nights stay in midtown didn't have them so knew it was not standard for this area.
