“Better Hyatt Place's in ATL”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

I have recently became a dedicated Hyatt Goldpassport member (I used to use Hotels.com exclusively). I have stayed at Hyatt Places all over the US and being that this particular property was rated so high on Tripadvisor I was surprised how worn the furnishings are. Location is excellent and the staff if phenomenal. Being located in Buckhead it was a huge plus for free parking in their garage. I would stay here again but only after a renovation as there are nicer Hyatt's for comparable prices within the area.

The convenient location and large rooms make this an excellent property for the business or vacation traveler. Within easy walking distance are groceries, coffee shops, specialty shops, and nice restaurant choices. The hotel also runs a shuttle service every 30 minutes to locations in the immediate vicinity.

The rooms are large with sufficient space to spread out. The sitting area is comfortable and spacious with a large sectional sofa and ottoman. The desk area is ample with easy access to power sources, and there is a small frig and coffee maker as well. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms and bath are very clean. The closets are small which is only a problem for a long stay (and it's not much of a problem).

The staff is responsive and helpful, and the property offers a generous buffet breakfast each morning. There is a weekly manager's reception as well. There is also an outdoor pool on the property -- the surroundings aren't especially scenic but it's a nice opportunity for a morning swim or for family use.

Occasionally I have had problems with the wireless in the rooms tucked into the corners by the elevators, so I try to avoid those rooms. As is the case in so many hotels now, the lighting is lacking. The new energy efficient bulbs provide dim light, but I encounter this virtually everywhere.
Finally, I do not like their auto-check in process. It feels very impersonal, though I suppose some travelers like the expedience.

I am a frequent visitor to Atlanta, and this is my hotel choice for each stay.

I am normally a Hilton and Doubletree type of girl, I love comfy beds and decor. I must say i am glad I picked Hyatt Place this time around. I must start by saying the young women and men at the reception are so nice and helpful. The room was nice, had plenty of mirrors (which I love), the decor and colors of the room was warm and inviting... and the bed.... I got the best sleep! The price was reasonable and I would recommend, this hotel to anyone staying in Atlanta.

Once we found the way to drive in, the whole experience was excellent.
Instructions for parking were clear & the garage was very close really, & in general the staff went out of their way to be kind & helpful.
Room was very good & self service breakfast nice.
One of the lifts wasn't working & they should have stopped it & put it out of action, but that's a small gripe!

I got a good rate but would not pay regular Hotel rate not worth it. Good Hotel but bed not comfortable and it rained all day in Atlanta which made it inconvenient getting my car from the garage (no covered walk-thru)

I stayed here for a wedding weekend and got some great rates. The rooms are sizable but the closets and the bathrooms are smallish. They have a great breakfast buffet and food downstairs most of the times. It is basically self park in a parking deck right there. To get to the hotel entrance you have to turn off Peachtree Street and know where to turn.

All in all not bad deal.

This hotel is not as clean as other hotels in its class. The shower is tiled, but the staff apparently chose to not thoroughly clean the shower and leave mold behind. Likewise, the bowls at breakfast had food remaining in "clean" plates. Also, coffe and tea service is not complimentary other than breakfast hours. Overall, lack of cleanliness made the stay disappointing. Other hotels in this business traveler class have higher standards when it comes to cleanliness. Front desk staff, however, were kind and hospitable.
