There are very few grand theaters remaining in the United States, and the Fox was almost demolished to build an office tower! Yes, many years a go, we gave cash to a "Save the Fox" campaign, which halted the demolition and lead to a complete refurbishment of this masterpiece of a building. The Fox has a wide range of shows all year and we recently saw Tony Bennett, who noted just how spectacular it is. If you visit Atlanta, at least walk by, check out the original ticket booth near the street, and stroll around the entrance area. Better yet, take in a show-- any show! Parking is pricey so take MARTA (Civic Center stop) or the bus that goes up and down Peachtree. If you must drive, allow ample time, consider parking in the 7th street area where there are many restaurants to choose from for a dinner before or after the show, and walk down from there. If you take in a show, you must visit the restroom, one of the best sights to see while you are there!
