If you would like to view Atlanta as it really was up close and personal by viewing pictures and personal objects then the Atlanta History is the place to visit when you are in Atlanta. The center also has people doing living history exhibits which happily answer your questions about how people lived in Atlanta's past. I was so impressed with the museum I donated my gggranpa's Confederate pants he was wearing when he was wounded in the battle of Sharpsburg, Md. (Battle of Antietam) by a shot to his lung. These are butternut colored and one of the rarest examples of pants in America. I did a lot of research before making my decision to trust the History Center with my family's heirlooms which my family considers to be priceless. Decide to take most of a day to have an experience of Atlanta's past, you will have memories you will never forget.
