“Fresh, locally sourced foods”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

We visited on a Sunday eveningin April. Food and service were excellent---we particularly liked the Grazalema salad, which is made with fresh local greens, goat cheese, honey and walnuts. It's the must-have starter for any meal and worth the trip on its own.

“Away from the thrash”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

When staying in a "white village" one likes to eat with the locals. This was a real surprise. "away from the thrash" translates to "away from the centre of town". The cafe/bar is well up the hill and well worth finding. We have just left Grazalema and ate there three nights out of the four we were there as it is closed on a Monday. The tapas/raciones were excellent - beautifully cooked and different. The mushrooms with the local honey and thyme were wonderful. The salad with the local cheese "Payoyo", walnuts, dried fruit and honey was first class. One slight "winge" for us was the lack of "real" potato, instead they serve home made warm crisps but they did not soak up the gravy of the wonderful venison stew. A particular plus for us is that every dish was marked if it was gluten free. Very reasonable wine prices too, served by the glass. Lovely staff (twin sisters).

“A real gem ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

We found this thru trip advisor and loved it. Great tapas with loads of choice. As well as the mushrooms I would recommend the tomatoes, house salad and the burger. If you make a friend of the waitress she will turn the TV volume down!

“On top of the town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

This little bar/cafe is located up the hill, in the middle of the town, rather than being down around the main public areas at the bottom of the hill. Since were were staying in a house just a couple of blocks away, this was the closest bar and cafe to our house. Since it's located in a neighborhood, it's mostly frequented by locals and little or no English is spoken. Never the less, it's easy to order beer and tapas here, and we had dinner there one evening. Friendly staff. The food was good, and inexpensive. Not on the level of the restaurants "downtown", but it is convenient, easy and tasty if you're staying up in the center of town above the downtown area.
