“Maybe my favorite Inn ... ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

We booked an impromptu visit to Woodstock last weekend and decided to take a chance on the Village Inn, as the Woodstock Inn was full. Oh Happy Day! We were greeted warmly and taken to an utterly charming and very comfortable room. We arrived in time for Happy Hour and relaxed for a bit in the cozy bar room ... In the morning, we were treated to a most delicious breakfast which was not only perfectly prepared, but was accompanied by gorgeous coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice! Yum! We were only in Woodstock for a one evening event (Pasghetti Western World Premiere!) but will be returning for an event at GMHA and will DEFINITELY book a room at the Village Inn.

My wife and I stayed at The Village Inn of Woodstock for 3 nights for a short getaway and were very impressed! We both agree it's the best B&B we've ever been to. The room was clean and beautifully decorated (as was the rest of the Inn). Evelyn (owner), as well as the housekeeper were very friendly and accommodating. One of the best parts of our trip was looking forward to the delicious breakfast each morning cooked by David & Evelyn (owners). We both highly recommend the Inn and plan to return in the future.

Thank you so much, Michael, for the awesome review. We are honored to be the best b&b that you've ever been to. I will let both Tammy and Marcee know that you appreciated their service at breakfast, and how clean they keep the inn. They both do a fabulous job for us!!!! We are so happy that you found breakfast to be a treat each morning, and that you found us to be accommodating and friendly. We are delighted that you plan to return, we look forward to it very much! Best regards, Evelyn

Visiting an old friend in Boston, he suggested we head to Vermont for the weekend. So delighted he chose The Village Inn of Woodstock for our accommodation. The outside of this place belies the incredible beauty within. This place is so beautifully and meticulously decorated , and the friendly proprietors made us feel right at home. The amazing cooked breakfasts were a highlight. If you are visiting Vermont you can't go wrong with this one.

Room Tip: Each room is different - some with fireplaces, or sitting areas etc. All looked amazing!

This Inn and its wonderful innkeepers provide a level of luxury and service too easily forgotten in today's mainstream travel world. The inn is tasteful and elegant. David & Evelyn love what they do and it reflects in the overall experience gained by a stay at their inn. If you can, stay in rooms 1, 3 or 5. Have a cocktail or glass of wine in the private tavern. And do not miss the breakfast. It is all wonderful. You may even come back for many years to come.

My wife and I had some travel plans go awry and, after a particularly trying day, we found ourselves looking for last minute lodging on Valentine's Day in Woodstock. Fortune was in our favor, as The Village Inn happened to have a last minute cancellation. We stayed in room 5- an elegant, relaxing space with tasteful decor, all the conveniences you'd want, and a luxurious bath set up across from the fireplace. We were sold as much by these comforts as by Evelyn's warm greeting. She and Roger proved to be absolutely wonderful hosts- extremely friendly, accommodating, and good humored. We immediately felt at home and cared for.
This inn is very close to downtown. There is plenty to see and do in the area, but we still found ourselves spending time at the inn. Highly recommended!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights the 3rd week of January with 1 other couple and we couldn't have been happier. We were in room 5, a complimentary upgrade might I add, and our friends in room 3. Both had fireplaces but were different in a few ways, however both were as equally comfortable and elegant. The inn is on Main Street, towards the end and not more than a 30 second drive into the "heart" of town. Woodstock is a quaint little town and very easy to navigate. Make sure you walk across the covered bridge. Not something you can do being from Long Island. As for the owners, Evelyn and David, they are by far the best innkeepers we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Both seem to truly love their house and quests and go beyond whatever expectations you may have. As others have stated their breakfast was wonderful and the service great. We are what one might consider very easy travelers, meaning it takes a lot for us to not enjoy where we are or what we're doing. Even if I wanted to nit pick something about this b&b I wouldn't be able to. It was a perfect experience. Can't wait to return, hopefully in the spring when I guessing the inn will be even more prettier. And last but not least, as stated by many before, they do have a complimentary glass of wine every afternoon around 4:30 and should you want more (1 day we did), the prices for wine and liquor were more than reasonable. A measured 2 ounce pour of 18 year old Glenlivet single malt scotch for $14.00. Thanks David. Wish we could get that price in NY.

It was our pleasure to have you with us, and thank you so very much for the glowing review. I am so pleased that you found the inn to be both elegant and comfortable, and that you enjoyed our breakfasts and wine reception in the afternoon. We do hope that you come back in the spring or summer, we are already planning our gardens. The terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a refreshment in the warmer weather, especially after a lovely day of shopping in the village. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

My husband and I stayed here about a month ago for a quick winter get-away. The inn is lovely, but what really sets it apart is the hospitality of its owners, Evelyn and David. I had mentioned before coming that it would be my husband's birthday, and they not only remembered to put a candle in his delicious breakfast cake, but also left chocolates as a special gift. The breakfasts are fabulous, with a delicious balance of sweet and savory. And you should definitely stop by their tavern for the late afternoon wine. It was delightful chatting with other visitors to the inn as well as the inn keepers. The rooms are nicely appointed and the bed very comfortable. It was an excellent base to enjoy Woodstock!
