I thought it was odd that so many reviewers commented on the hosts, David and Evelyn. After my 2 days here in September I can understand all of the glowing comments. They really made us feel welcome and comfortable, espically after an early morning flight and road trip from Boston. A highlight of my trip was the enjoyable hour spent talking with them on the front porch. When we left, it felt like leaving old friends! The Inn itself is excellent. My partner and I stayed 2 nights each at 5 B&Bs in Vermont and we both agreed this was by far the best. The rooms and common areas look as good as the pictures on their website. We splurged and stayed in the most expensive room (I think it was Room 1) because I wanted both the fireplace and jacuzzi tub but I looked into some of the others and they are all very nice. The breakfests were wonderful - again, the best of our trip. The location was great as you can walk anywhere in town from there and Woodstock is a great town to walk around in.

We arrived in Woodstock after a very long car journey and after a couple of nights in a not-very-nice b&b so we were hoping and praying for a nice surprise which we certainly got!
Woodstock itself was just lovely. You can spend a happy few hours wandering around looking at the houses and soaking in the atmosphere. The surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful. Sorry I'm supposed to write about the Village Inn. We had a warm welcome from the very charming and very efficient Evelyn. Our bedroom was so gorgeous as was the bathroom and little lounge area that we got a picnic from the deli, lit the gas flame fire, dimmed the lights......and..........watched t.v. !
Breakfast, oh, groan, how do you eat goat-cheese and tomato quiche and coffee cake at that time of the morning? Easy.
Just the sort of place to be when the snow falls so hard that you cannot leave for days. PS, there are at least three Woodstocks in New England, make sure you get the right one, we nearly ended up in another State.

My husband and I recently spent two nights at The Village Inn while "leaf peeping". It was by far the best place I have EVER stayed while on vacation. The owners, David and Evelyn, are warm and welcoming. We stayed in Room 9, which was gorgeous and had the most comfortable bed. The bedding smelled so good! Breakfast was unbelievably wonderful (especially the banana bread). We enjoyed our visits with Spanky and Alfie, the owners' dogs, as we were missing our own pets terribly. This place just feels so cozy and homey. I have never written a review before, but this place was so fantastic that I had to let everyone know. I cannot wait to go back!

We just got home from our "leaf peeping" trip to New England and we were able to meet up with some friends in Woodstock. We stayed at this lovely inn and we loved the inn, our room, and the breakfast but the greatest feature of this inn are the owners, Evelyn and Dave. Evelyn made reservations for us and our friends at Pearce Simon (fabulous recommendation from Evelyn) and she had to change it several times because our friends got lost. She was so gracious and so helpful. You can't go wrong staying here! And it's in a prime location in Woodstock, VT. We had a memorable trip to New England in the Fall that we will never forget! Gratefully, Carolyn & Gary, California

Our last getaway before the baby arrives and we had a wonderful time in Woodstock. Inn Keepers are very kind, and inn is immaculate! Very excellent breakfasts---compliments to the chef.
Excellent dinner at Simon Pearce. If you're travelling during peak foliage season, you could definitely do a little research of the restaurants you would like to dine at and make reservations! They all fill up fast. We heard a lot about the Prince and Pauper right in the center of Woodstock, but there was no availability. We attempted this much too late on a Saturday night and we'll know better next time.

Woodstock is lovely and so is this inn!
