I cannot imagine a better farm museum than this. There is a beautiful visitor's center with updated bathrooms and a nice gift shop, and the museum with the farm equipment upstairs above the visitor's center is close enough to touch, and displayed in a manner in which you can truly get a sense of the purpose and functionality of the machines. Across other buildings on the property you can visit an authentic 19th century farmhouse and the working farm with live cows, chickens, and horses. You can get right up close to all of them. There is also a carriage shed with 19th century buggies. Billings Farm is close enough to walk to downtown Woodstock. The setting is truly beautiful. Only negative is that when I visited the museum for the second time the farm equiment part of the museum was closed for the winter. I would recommend Billings to anyone. Parents, your children will love getting so close to the farm animals, especially the barn with all the cows lined up in rows on either side of you, and the cow nursery for baby cows.
