We were initially perplexed as to where to stay since it was the Memorial Day weekend and pretty much everywhere between Las Vegas and Yosemite (where Tioga Pass was opened surprisingly early this year) was booked. Thus, when we saw that Independence Inn was still available we didn't think much of it, as we had the perception that all that is good is gone.
And wrong we were.
The owner, Jim, was really friendly and helpful. He gave us plenty of good advice, and provided us with great brochures upon hearing that we were headed for Death Valley and Las Vegas. The rooms themselves were really spacious and comfortable too! I'm really impressed that Jim has such passion in doing the things he love, despite having to go out of the norm to fulfill his interests. After chatting with him, I feel really inspired to fight for what I believe in! I hope you have fun pursuing your passion, Jim, and thanks for making our stay such an awesome one!
