“Excelent place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Strongly recommended to visit the island.

A natural protected territory rich in fauna & flora where you can visit the fort of "São João Baptista das Berlengas", go to the beach, visit some caves and excelent place for diving.

“A Good Day Out of varied delights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

We took the early ferry from Peniche and had the best of days on this beautiful island. We walked all round the paths, visited the fort, took a ride in a glass bottomed boat (4€), slept on the beach, paddled, snorkelled and had a coffee all before leaving the island at 16:30. The beach is small so if lying on it is all you want to do then it might be limiting but I think that anyone making the effort to come here will get more out of the island than just sunbathing. Snorkelling with large fish around is fantastic!

“Paradise on the Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Truly a gem. If you are passing by Peniche or Nazare, it is a must! I would suggest to take a ferry instead of the private boat. I took both and since the ocean is really wavy, the ferry is definitely more stable. On the island do some hiking - check the panoramic view of the beach from the up, check the lighthouse and the beautiful fortress which is also a camp for divers. Don't forget to check the little beach - the water is very cold but definitely worth the little swim.

“A good day on paradise....:)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Its a fantastic island, great sights, nice small beach, a good one day entertainment, you can see and do everything on one day, unless you are a diver or a wildlife photographer you will be bored after the first day...
An advice, if you are young or with adventurous spirit take the Rigid-hulled inflatable boat, the trip is faster, only 20 minutes and the trip is very cool....:)

“Throwing up, climbing and almost no sand left n the beach”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

Only worth going if you either: have a private boat. I threw up in the ferry...filled with people and no sand to stretch on during summer; good if you are a diver but not worth going if you enjoy the beach per se...nothing to see in the islands but rock and the view must be great from up the hill but you have to climb it by foot and it is exhausting...not for me.
