We were impressed with the quality and presentation of the Manassas Museum’s exhibits, which include interesting artifacts. It’s a small museum, with the permanent exhibit in one rather large room and a special (temporary) exhibit lining a rather long hallway. Most of the permanent exhibit deals with years around the Civil War, but not just about the war in Northern Virginia. It also covers general aspects of the war (and slavery) in the South. There was one A/V exhibit with a bench for viewing it. That was the only distracting sound source. People who prefer a small museum with few distractions will find the Manassas Museum suitable. The museum is located in attractive historic Old Town Manassas, with some good restaurants nearby. (Top ranked Katerina’s Greek Cuisine, for instance, is only three blocks away). We happily spent about two hours altogether in this museum, and would recommend spending at least an hour here for a thorough viewing. It’s definitely worthwhile. We learned quite a few new things, even though we’ve been to a number of Civil War sites and museums
