Stayed here over a weekend in late June while attending a nearby wedding. When we pulled up we noticed, with a sense of dread, that there was a basketball/volleyball court right in the front of the Residence Inn. I don't understand why they would build a basketball court right front and center of the inn. That meant shouts, screams and of course, dribbling basketballs. Of course, the two-bedroom suite we were assigned abutted the court and was -- predictably --noisy as described above. Second problem was when I checked in, I was informed that the Marriott Reservation center had reserved TWO two-room suites for our party of...two. There was only one poor harassed clerk on duty around 6 p.m. on a summer Friday night, when the front desk was very busy. So, getting her to resolve my problem took some prodding. But she finally contacted the manager by phone (he was not on the premises, she said) and assured me that I would not be billed for the extra suite, but that I also had to call Marriott reservations to make sure THEY would not bill me. (I did and they said they would not bill me for the erroneous room). I realize accidents happen and I was pleased that they resolved the issue, although it took a little prodding. Other than that hassle and the constant noise of shouting and basketball dribbling right outside our window, this Residence Inn was typical of the chain. Prospective visitors should be warned that this is not a place for peace and quiet. This is a place for families and kids running around. Kinda like staying in a high school gymnasium. It's gonna be noisy. (Oh, did I mention the teenagers kicking a soccer ball for much of the day in the upstairs hallway? Constant thumping and bumping above our ceiling.) Good housekeeping, good location right off of I-66. Full kitchen, but probably the noisiest dishwasher I have ever heard.
