We've been a long-time customer of Claytime Cafe and seen the cafe through two managements. The new management is so customer friendly, run by a former teacher and a terrific artist. It's a very youth-oriented, family-oriented attraction, perfect for rainy days, snowy afternoons, hot code-red summers or anytime. We've also seen couples on "date night", Scout troop and the cafe offers a frequent Ladies Night Out!
Recently, we decided to do my daughter's birthday party there, and we are so glad we did. They have a separate party space, which they do not charge for its use, so you pay for what you paint, and you can bring your own party foods and cake. That is RARE, which is why we also chose to have the party here. I'm tired of venues that require you to pay for the space, buy THEIR marked up food or contracted cateres, buy THEIR cake, etc. It's not reasonable in this economy, and I need more control over what the kids are eating.
Kathy at Claytime also understands that, offering flexibility for your own party decor, party food and private space to open gifts, too. She explains painting techniques to the kids in such a fun, upbeat manner. The girls painted teacups and saucers and it was just such a big hit.
We went back the next day to paint more, as now we have the pottery painting bug again and the kids want their own set of plates, bowls and mugs. Highly recommend for your family outing, a slumber party stop-off, Scout event or even a way to accomplish homeschool art.
