“Perfect Diner Joint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Good place for breakfast. Can get busy on the weekends, but it's worth it. Great diner style grub, pretty decent quality too!

“diner style - unexciting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

Yorktown is a pleasant, traditional restaurant in the diner style. The food was ok - not exciting, but saved us from a fast food place, Most of the dinners were of the same low price, except the hamburger special which was less. My choice was the turkey dinner, and my disappointment with it influenced my review. Mashed potatoes with gravy, lima beans (actually the best part), but the turkey was sliced from a roll, a bit salty, and not accompanied by dressing. The biscuits were rather ordinary. My wife's choice was an omelet and her comment was that it was ok- not bad, but nothing special. Many of those in the restaurant were regulars, and many working there seemed to be family members. I like the idea of this family run, friendly restaurant and would have liked to say more nice things about it.

“Great local diner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Typical, but tasty, diner food. Cheap food and fast service (once you get a table). It's a breakfast treat. It's packed on Sunday mornings, but the wait is worth it.

“Old Fashioned home cooking...perfect Sunday breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Don't let the outside of the restuarant put you off...it might be a little old and plain but the interior is clean and bright. Sunday morning 9:45 AM and the dining rooms are almost full, we were lucky enough to grab one of the last tables for four...the menu featured the standard omlettes and pancakes and such but surprisingly they had homemade corned beef hash and creamed chipped beef (on toast or on biscuits)...also had homemade hash browns and sausage gravy (just to name of few of the special dishes)...all the food was served piping hot and the portions were generous (consider sharing some the of side dishes). Service was great and they kept the coffee coming even being as busy as they were. Prices are very reasonable.

“Decent diner food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

I like this part of the country because you can get northern and southern breakfast foods on the menu. Service is good and the food is cheap and fast.
