For the price adequate when I was there it was freezing (no heating) December no communication skills. All I can say is you get what you pay for!!!! good central location if your a foodie food wont suit very basic. Don't stay all inclusive not worth it no choice no drinks except meal times bar not open during day.

Room Tip: Ask for the main building otherwise can be a hike to facilities i.e. Restaurant, Bar ect

I stayed here for 3 nights from 23 January 2014 for a cheap weekend away. When reading this review, please bear in mind that the total cost was £57.00 for 3 nights for a 2 bedroom apartment that will comfortably sleep 4 people... The Bugibba Hotel is a very large complex, centrally situated in Bugibba, so an easy walk to the Square, waterfront and bus station etc. Check-in was very quick and we were allocated apartment 624 on the 6th floor. The Main Reception at street level is on the 3rd floor, with some Budget Rooms below street level as advised when booking. The apartment itself was huge, with 2 bedrooms with twin beds, a compact bathroom and small kitchen, and a huge lounge/diner with a sofa bed. All rooms had opening windows (all the handles were broken off but still usable). That being said, the patio door to our balcony was broken with a large gap in one corner so we didn't actually go out onto the balcony at all. The apartment was very dated and basic, but clean enough and perfectly acceptable for the price we paid. There was air-conditioning/heating operated by a switch in the hall. This was obviously centrally-controlled for the temperature but blew out warm air into the bedrooms and lounge - very useful for the cool evenings and mornings. The (threadbare) towels were changed daily along with the emptying of bins, but there was no further maid service over that - no beds made for example. The basic kitchen had a full size fridge and cooker, with all necessary cutlery and utensils, but as usual no washing-up cloth or liquid provided - we purchased these and left them when we left - I wonder if no-one else does this or whether the maid never runs out of these at home......??? There are 2 lifts in the main block, as well as the restaurant, bar and reception area. We were self-catering so I cannot comment on the food, but the small bar had a singer and was quite popular - I would think that this area would be far too small if the hotel was full. There is a spacious sun terrace with the 2 outdoor pools and a good sized indoor pool. Overall I found the accommodation acceptable for the price - at £19 a night for an apartment sleeping 4. I'm not sure that I would be prepared to pay the higher price that would be charged in the summer due to the standard of the fixtures and furnishings. The Sailors Arms pub across the road from the main reception offers a very good selection of day and evening meals, and the Apple Diner (turn left from reception - cross the road about 100 yards away) does a great small English breakfast including tea and toast for just €2.75 too!

Room Tip: Request a higher floor room if possible, and away from the street in the height of the summer (altho...

I am glad to hear that you were satisfied with your weekend break. I would like to point out that we provide maid service daily in all our bedrooms and every 4 days in our studios and apartments. Also, we do not provide cleaning materials/supplies in any of our bedrooms or apartments.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future

Stayed here for 4 days from Saturday 18 January we had a decent room which was vey clean but we were disappointed with the meals and the facilities of the all inclusive. We had 3 evening meals which consisted of a car very but is was loin of pork 3 times. The English breakfast was fried eggs and beans one day scrambled egg and beans the next then boiled eggs and beans the next no sign of any bacon or sausage or anything. We chose this hotel because when it was the Buggiba holiday complex it was very good. The staff were very nice but I know will never choose to stay here again.

Dear Bob B
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review regarding your stay with us
Our catering team continually works hard to improve our menus and choices depending on regular demand and comments. We regret to hear that our offer was not to your personal liking.
Regarding our breakfast, I would like to point that we do not offer an English breakfast as standard and we make sure that all guests and agencies are informed that we offer continental buffet breakfast with a few cooked items. If clients wish to have plated English breakfast while staying with us, this is possible against a small charge and preorder. We do apologize if the correct information was not transmitted to you and we will make sure it doesn’t happen in the future

I stayed at this hotel last year with my boyfriend for a week in July and it wasn't amazing but for two 18 year old it was fine. Usually stay at my aunts but wanted a cheap hotel instead. Towels and bed covers were changed regularly and when we had horrible ripped towels we told the cleaner and she gave us new ones. The cleaners, people down at the pool and people behind reception were always nice to us. The pool area is a lovely environment, games and music by the pool and got everyone there having a laugh and talking! Only bad thing was the breakfast, milk was warm and tasted like cow pat haha but we went to the local shops near and got cheap food anyway. Double check if you need a fridge and things as we thought we did and didn't and all our drinks were warm constantly, but air con and fan in the room were very good! Also getting to Bugibba square isn't that much of a bad walk either! I think it was okay for the money if you just want a place to sleep in between being down at the pool and going out at night. :)

Lots of very polite and efficient staff - cleaners, reception, dining room. I enjoyed the food - dinner always had a roast, a fish dish and one other main to choose from and ample courses/portions. Nothing can change the dated fabric of the building overnight, though there was evidence of refurbishment underway. I stayed in a Basic room - they are what they say - and priced low to reflect this. I found the bed comfortable if firm. The room had a connecting door (locked) and I heard everything from next door (I was woken by the snoring!). I also found my neighbours cigarette smoke wafted through the cracks and had to stop the gap with a towel. As I am asthmatic the smoke was most unpleasant. I suggested to the receptionist that these rooms be made non smoking.

Room Tip: If you are bothered by cigarette smoke or noise ask for a room with no connecting door. Alternativel...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 23 Dec to 6 Jan - never again.

The hotel itself was clean enough and the staff pleasant and hard working but they are fighting a losing battle against years of neglect and poor maintenance. Service covers are hanging off corridor walls, we had a bedside table with a missing glass top it must have been broken in the past and not been replaced. All the bedlinen needed replacing (as well as being worn out, the sheets were too small for the beds), duvets came without covers and mattresses were well past their best. The architrave to the bathroom was peeling away from the wall. There are chunks out of walls that just need filling and painting but it's not done, rusty towel rail in the downstairs public lavatory etc etc

In general the food was bland, boring and repetitive and a cheap cracker each does not make a Gala dinner..

This is a run down hotel nowhere near the seafront it is in a run down and squalid area and I would not want to walk back through this area at night.

Even at half the price this hotel would not reflect value for money - given the locale the best thing the owners could do would be to knock it down and build some more grotty flats to match the existing.

If you are planning on using the 7 day bus pass (which is very good value) to get around be aware that, because the road is closed further on between the hotel and the bus terminus the buses no longer run along this road and it's nearly half a mile walk to the terminus.

Dear Barbara Y
I would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your stay with us. We take all feedback very seriously and sincerely apologize for not reaching your expectations. Please rest assure that we are doing our utmost to improve our standard throughout our hotel.
We would like to point out that our hotel is not advertised as being in the seafront, however, we are located only 5 minutes from the sea. Unfortunately the road closure between our hotel and the bus terminal is out of our control, however, it only takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the nearest bus stop.
We hope to have another opportunity to show you our improvements in the near future
