We looked forward so much to celebrating our first wedding anniversary at Tarragon. Screaming babies and galloping children do not make for a romantic atmosphere. Great for families, maybe not so great for couples. The starters were very good. Our two rib eye steaks turned up as one fillet and one rib eye. They were returned to us still bleeding, not medium rare. The re-cooked one was returned "done" with no replacement vegetables. And why cannot restaurants reputed to be of this calibre, offer peeled potatoes in some form? A warm pancake for pudding with fresh fruit and ice cream appeared smothered in nuts and chocolate sauce, the other dessert was a brownie(soft, chewy, choclatey) not a dry cone which I was given, although admittedly, choclatey. We accepted a complimentary coffee and beer which then appeared on the bill! 40 minutes later we managed to leave Tarragon, this is how long it took the overworked, and charming, staff to take our payment. Nowhere near the standard we expected or looked forward to. Very, very disappointed.
