My partner and I spent two nights at the Residenza d'Arte at the end of a lovely holiday in Italy. It was the cherry on the top of the cake - a wonderful blend of stylish and comfortable accommodation, a peaceful and relaxing setting, and warm hospitality. Enrico and Francesca are relaxed, friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. Enrico pointed us in the direction of beautiful and romantic Pienza and we had a couple of lovely meals in recommended restuarants. The rooms are spacious, viibrant and very creative, a truly welcome break from the bland beiges and flower prints which you so often find in hotels. The breakfast too was very tasty with freshly cooked pastries and cakes, and a good selection of yogurts, meats, cheeses and fruits.

If luxury to you is a seven-dial pressure shower with steam facility or an in-built sound system/entertainment suite then the Residenza may not be for you. If however you value a unique, creative and homely place to stay, with fantastic hospitality and a willingness to help then I thouroughly recommend the Residenza d'Arte.

Residenza d'Arte was incredible! I have never seen such a unique bed and breakfast/hotel. Our room was the perfect size, had a great air conditioner, and a mini-fridge. All of the artwork is very sensual, passionate, and somewhat funky. Enrico and his sister were so cordial, helpful, and very welcoming to us. We enjoyed just relaxing on the property and taking in the incredible views. The location is just a few minutes from a small town, in which we found a great restaurant (Belvedere). We recommend this beautiful B & B to anyone traveling to Tuscany! I hope we can make it back to this lovely place someday!

The Residenza d'Arte was a great suprise to us. Leaving the well worn tourist trail to explore a little deeper is always a risk. We decided to take the extra time to visit the Residenza which truned out to be a great decision.

Francy was excellent in providing directions live over the mobile phone to navigate our smooth arrival. The driveway alone is worth experiencing and on arrival we were welcomed warmly and taken to an amazing one of a kind room overlooking the hillside.

We only had a one night stay and Eric immediately organized our evening in nearby Cortona comlete with an outstanding dinner and town walk. The sunrise at the Residenza d'Atre was beautiful and a mini walk around the art collection spectacularly built into the landscape was unique and very special.

We were only with Eric and Francy for 24 hours but it was one of our more memorable stops on a 3 month driving tour. We look forward to visiting again one day and meeting more of the family.

In April we visited Toscany. After a few days near the coast, we went to Torrita di Siena (a small village about 60 kilometers south of Siena) to the Residenza D'Arte, a hotel, we booked online. The pictures on the website had made us very curious. And we tell you: The location, a monastery from the 12th century, exceeded all our expectations.

What this place make so unique ist the connection from inspired restaured old walls and modern art all over : On the walls, in the bathrooms or outside in nearly every corner you can find fantastic artworks that makes the whole place to a complete art-ground and open-air-exhibition. Sometimes we did'nt know: Are the chairs in the garden, from where you have an overwhelming view to the cosy little village on the hilltop, to sit down and relax or is it another curious sculpture? But: No word can describe the impressions. Maybe our pictures can.

From the first moment on, our hosts - Eric & Francesca - looked and asked for everything to make our time so comfortable as possible. We enjoyed every minute there and were also pleased about Eric's tips to travel around.

One sentence to some unbelievable comments about the Residenzia: This location is absolutely not comparable with all these "Hiltons" in the cities. And this is good so. It is an historical building where you can breathe purely toscany-atmosphere in a very special way. We are so grateful about this experience.
