“Our favourite place in Italy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Siena house is the most amazing place with absolutely breathtaking views no matter where you are in the house! Malvin and Amanda's hospitality is wonderful! They make you feel very comfortable and at home throughout your stay. Their knowledge of the Tuscan region is extremely helpful, we didn't need to think about where we wanted to explore... We just hopped in the car and away we went with one of Malvin's already programmed GPS's. Without a doubt our favourite place throughout our trip through Italy!! Many thanks to you both!! We will definitley be recommending your stunning home to everyone thinking about planning a trip overseas! xo

My wife and I came here for the 2nd part of our 3 region Italian Honeymoon. Had no idea what we were getting into, as my wife found this place on TripAdvisor and said it had great reviews and nice photos. I was prepared to be underwhelmed.

We drove from Florence and the views on drive itself were incredible. Great start. 45 minutes prior to Sunset, we found the entrance road to Siena House and made our way up. Everything up to this point was exactly what I pictured Tuscany to be. We drove through the gates and were immediately greeted by Malvin (owner). He didn't let us waste any time, by way of chit chat or checking in and had a bottle of Champagne and Hors d'oeuvres waiting for us to enjoy with our first Tuscan sunset. It was perfect. As the sun went down, my wife and I were already in love with our decision and we hadn't even seen our room yet. We finally got to meet Malvin and his lovely wife and daughter and shown our room. The room itself was terrific. It was spacious, clean and continued the amazing views.

Malvin and Amanda proceeded to offer excellent recommendation on what to see, where to eat and even where to park. Some of our favorite meals on the whole trip were due to their insider knowledge which they had plenty of.

Every morning we woke up to what tasted and looked like a Michelin rated breakfast. The local and organic meats were amazing, and their home baked bread smelled so good, that we had to indulge even with Gluten intolerance's. It was worth it.

The location was perfectly central to every town we wanted to visit and was about a 20 to 40 min drive to each.

We were there for 3 nights and we honestly felt like we could have stayed all 7 of them here, as we stayed at another B&B in Tuscany as well. When we come back to Tuscany, we will definitely be staying here the entire time. Thanks Malvin and Amanda for the incredible experience!

Side Note: I was concerned the drive in was going to be confusing, due to the basic instruction given, "turn left after the sign, etc." but they actually proved to work perfectly, so don't sweat it.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Montepulciano room. Loved it.

Malvin and Amanda are the most generous and warm hosts who have kindly opened their beautiful home for discerning travelers. From the delicious homemade bread, pastries, yoghurt and pretty much anything you request by Malvin to the fine linen and amazing artwork painted by Amanda, every aspect of our needs and more were meticulously catered for. Siena house is also located in a perfect location to explore the wine regions in Tuscany and the historic towns in Umbria with most locations within a 30-45 min drive (Malvin arms you with a GPS with their top recommendations pre loaded to help you find your way around!) There are also plenty of fantastic dining options within 5 minutes of the house - Fornacino and Forcillo were two that we tried. And if you're lucky, you might even get invited to a home cooked meal with Malvin and Amanda (such a treat after a while on the road). We will definitely call this home the next time we visit Tuscany.

This is easily one of the most memorable places we have visited, truly a fantastic place to stay. The amount of thought put into every little detail in this beautifully renovated house is reflective of Malvin and Amanda’s welcoming approach. We had been stuck in a very long traffic jam on our way from Rome and were immediately greeted with great sympathy and a bottle of prosecco, sat in front of the house, overlooking the Tuscan hills.

Particular highlights included the pre-programmed sat-nav making exploration in the surrounding area effortless, the quality of the rooms and bathrooms and, the star of the show, the amazing breakfasts – homemade pastry’s and bread, truffle honey, local pecorino, home grown basil and tomatoes…

This review is a little late (visited July 2013), but the memory of our visit still lives happily with us.

We recently spent three nights in the Montepulciano room, which was luxurious, and by far the largest room we stayed in whilst in Europe (the room consists of a bedroom, a bathroom, and a sitting room). The bed was incredibly comfortable and the property is very quiet (just birds to wake you up in the morning!). The views from the property are just breath-taking and we utilized the outdoor chairs many times to simply enjoy the views. It could be difficult to find as it isn't sign-posted from the road but Google Maps got us there quite easily.

We received a bottle of prosecco on arrival (which was a great touch after driving all day) and the breakfasts were superb (pace yourself if you want to eat lunch at a reasonable time!). Malvin was extremely welcoming and helpful - he booked us restaurants and wine tours, as well as providing us with a much-needed GPS. The handout of local information that he provided to us on arrival was very useful and was our bible for the trip. The handy on-site guest kitchen that we used a few times to prepare pre-dinner snacks was thoughtful and Malvin also allowed us to pick fresh vegetables from his garden.

You do need to pay in advance for the stay, but don't let this deter you. We actually found it a relief as you could just sit back and enjoy your stay without having to worry about settling the bill on departure. Highly recommend this property and want to go back!

Wow, what a place. It was a little hard to find, despite following the directions provided and having a GPS. However, once we arrived, we were greeted by Malvin who offered a personalised GPS with inputted information about restaurants, parking spots and sights in the Tuscany region. He swiftly made a booking for us at Luigi’s restaurant (don’t remember the name but the owner is called Luigi) and we had the best meal we had in Italy! All restaurant recommendations were on the mark, and the GPS made our driving experience so much easier. Being from Australia and being used to driving on the other side of the road, driving was a little stressful so it was very handy to have a GPS we could trust. Amanda was also super helpful in the lead up to our stay in recommending where to hire a car from (and recommended not to pick up a car in Rome, and we are SO glad we followed this advice). We stayed in the Cortona suite which was luxurious and beautiful. Breakfasts cooked by Malvin were just amazing every day. Freshly baked bread, cakes and coffee, with amazing fruit, yoghurt and cheeses/meats. The food was top quality and presented in a beautiful way. Had lovely chats with other guests around the breakfast table also, however there was the option to dine as a couple if you did want to. Great DVD collection, useful kitchen for exclusive guest use, including access to an amazing kitchen garden. Beautiful pool area where we spent a lot of time relaxing. Loved our stay and would recommend to all.

We have been to a fair few B & Bs but nothing as breath-taking as this. Everything about the place is absolutely amazing. The building itself has been tastefully renovated by the owners, the rooms are sumptuous, the home-made breakfasts delicious and the setting is perfect. The possibility of cooking your own meals in the guest kitchen with vegetables from the vegetable patch was an added bonus. We'd like to thank Malvin and Amanda for the best 5 days of our Italian trip. Joe&Noe. Barcelona.
