“best b and b ever!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011

We stayed for one wonderful night in April. We arrived late in the afternoon after a long drive and couldn't have been made more welcome. From the handmade chocolates and Perrier water in our room to the wine and cheese in the sitting room (which they had left even after the normal time of service for us). Pat and Mike were wonderful hosts and gave us lots of info about Richmond. The room was well appointed with comfortable bed, bathroom with good quality toiletries. Everything you might need was provided.
The inn is in an area which is an easy walk to lots of restaurants and Pat had lots of good suggestions. She also recommended a French restaurant which we went to in New York. The breakfast Mike prepared was french toast which was beautiful. We have stayed in lots of b and b's but this was definitely the best. Once again, thanks Pat and Mike for a wonderful stay

Pat and Mike were excellent hosts this past weekend...our folks rented the two rooms available for the weekend....our brother was graduating from VCU. We had a blast! Great front porch with rockers, roomy outdoor courtyard with tables, chairs, koi pond, and great foliage...breakfast was superb....a surprise each morning! Rooms were roomy and comfortable...a great place to unwind comfortably. Pat and Mike have thought of every little detail...if ever back in Richmond for work or pleasure, I will definitely stay at the William Miller House....

Our 3 night stay which included my mother in law in both of the beautiful rooms at the Inn was bittesweet. Our sleeping beauty has gone through his four years at the nearby University and Mother's Day weekend was the Day!!! We had sumptious breakfasts prepared by Mike. Both twentsomethings roused themselves out of bed, drove to meet us, and helped themselves to the Panetone French Toast and the "Lily P" starter - think color - all coutesy of our standard room rate. Another thoughtful inclusion on the part of Pat and Mike. We had wine and hot artichoke appetizers complimentary on the sunny porch (great view, and cushions) while waiting on the red peonies from Pat's Mother's house to pop open. (remember it was Mother's Day weekend) We went to the Picasso Exhibit in Richmomnd, still full from our breakfast or else we would have had lunch at the modern and hip cafe in the Museum. We were searching for a place to have dinner and Pat steered us to on Pegasus, on China St. A great Jamaciian ispired seafood place. All 5 of us were very happy with our dinner choices. Definitely not on the beaten path, another great aspect of staying at the W.M. house. Pat and Mike will give you all sorts of insight into where to go, what to see in town. The beds were as comfy, the room as clean as I remember and fit our needs to a T. Our last trip to town we stayed at the well known popular place in Richmond, but we weren't directed to the new places in town or asked if we needed a couple big umbrella's for the festivities on Saturday, rain was threatening. The NY Times is standard on Sunday, another nice touch. What else can I say, happy to say good bye to those college checks, but it means saying goodbye to Pat and Mike. Wait, isn't there some reason I need to go there again. I hear the siren call of the Richmond and the William Miller House.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the William Miller House. The bed and breakfast was decorated beautifully, our room was elegant, the linens first rate and the bathroom was spacious and had everything we needed. The gardens around the house were spectacular. Pat and Mike, the proprietors, made us feel welcome from the first moment we arrived. They even had the next day's weather report ready for us outside our room (a very nice touch.) Breakfast the next morning was outstanding and served on beautiful china. They helped us with restaurant suggestions and next day activities. All in all, a very, very memorable experience. Can't wait to come back!! V. Taylor

This is the best B&B/Inn we have ever stayed in. Our hosts were cordial and welcoming and extremely knowledgable about Richmond evens and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return there again. Five star food and accomodations.

I've been in other B&B's but never have I had such a warm welcome, complete with wine and cheese upon check in. The hosts were friendly, offered directions, maps and a gourmet breakfast, not just a typical bacon and eggs meal. The bedroom was comfortable, offered robes to wear, chocolates on your pillow, snacks in the hallway. We plan a family reunion here again next year. It's close to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and in a lovely residential neighborhood.

A perfect B&B experience. Warm, knowledgeable and gracious hosts (Pat and Mike), a quiet, well appointed room and bathroom, a lovely porch and backyard garden for relaxing and a delicious and sumptuous breakfast. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Richmond.
