Had a terrible experience here on Saturday night, April 27. Not sure I want to eat at any Olive Garden again was so mad and had such a bad experience.
Was a busy prom night. Ok. Didn't have to wait too long for a table, maybe 15 minutes. So started off pretty good. Demi was the waitress. Asked for 2 waters which came in a decent time.
Then got the orders in for 2 dinners. Then things started going downhill and got so bad, eventually just left with no dinner. Took a very long time to get breadsticks and salad. We wondered what happened as it should never have taken that long to get a pre-made salad and breadsticks. Demi explained that another woman had paid for the prom couple sitting near us. The guy was so shocked, etc. Demi had to chat w/ them a while to explain, etc. Then the guy left his dinner $35 as a tip for Demi since another woman had been nice enough to pay for him. But then Demi explained that she chased after the guy and slipped his money back into his pocket. Then apparently the girlfriend had taken the money to the manager and was adamant that Demi get the big tip. Then Demi had to explain to the manager what happened and get everything straightened out. Ok. Thanks for the explanation, but was thinking what did that have to do with us having to wait for you to get salad and bread sticks. At least we know why you were delayed, but again, shouldn't have affected us. But ok, we'll give you a break, but your tip might be less. Should have taken care of us first.
Demi then brought the salad and breadsticks. Told her we needed more water. She said she would bring a pitcher for us to make sure we had enough. It never came. We had also told her when she first arrived at the table that we were starving and really hungry. That was basically the last we saw of Demi, other than for helping other tables in the room.
We noticed another couple who had come after us had their salad and breadsitcks way before us. So we sat their eating salad and breadsticks. While running out of water. Then waited, and waited. Kept picking at the salad bowl and eating more breadsticks. Breadsticks were gone. Salad was gone, but still picking at the bowl. We wondered why didn't she come by to give us the water she had been told about, and why no salad and more breadsticks. It had been about an hour now since we had sat down.
The manager came by to check on how things were. We told her not very good. That we'd been waiting a long time for salad and breadsticks initially. Then ran out, never got waters. Had been waiting on dinner. That other people who came in after us were already half done with their dinners. And we were still waiting on dinner. We were basically ready to leave as we'd been there so long it should have been time to already have eaten dinner and were tired of being there really.
The manager said she would get more salad for us, bring out breadsticks with dinner, and would get us more water. She did get the water, but it took like 10 minutes before she brought it, but that was it. She said Demi was making the salad. Really? A pre-made salad. Ok. So we waited some more time, drinking a little water. Waited more. Seemed like another 20 minutes more. And nothing. Dinner should have come out by then. Decided enough was enough. That it just wasn't worth eating there anymore, had taken too long, even after telling them. So left.
Went to Red Lobster, where again took more than 10 minutes and never got water, nor placed an order. And left there as they were starting to wait on other tables that came in after us before getting us water.
Went to Longhorn Steak where they actually had good service and good food. In a reasonable amount of time. It is unfortunate we didn't go there first, as it took about 3 hours to finally get dinner Saturday night and all of our time for a relaxing evening before the Sunday race wasted.
Shame on Olive Garden and Demi. Get it together. Customers should never have to wait that long for food while starving.
