This is a very beautiful cemetery and one well worth visiting. The cemetery is the final resting place for thousands of Confederate soldiers as well as Presidents Monroe, Tyler, and Jefferson Davis. Additionally, Confederate Generals J.E.B. Stuart and George Pickett are laid to rest here. It was too warm to walk around at this time of year, but one can drive to see the entire cemetery. There are small areas to pull over to view many of the famous graves. You can purchase a map for $1 and it is worth doing so to keep you headed in the right direction. We plan to revisit the cemetery in the Fall when we can do some more walking.
