“Good 1st night, didn't stay the 2nd night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Had a great experience at 10:30 p.m. on Fri night, Apr 26. Was so glad they were open till 11. Had just gotten into town, got set up for the Richmond BMX race, and then wanted to eat. Dinner was great, service was great with Erica.

Saturday night wasn't quite so good. And was actually the 2nd restaurant to try that night. Had already wasted an hour at Olive Garden waiting to be served dinner. Finally was so mad and frustrated at the long wait for dinner at our table, and having talked to the Olive Garden Manager, just left. And came to Red Lobster. Had to wait 15 minutes here too for a table. And then was given a crummy table in the bar area.

Waitress came to get the drink order. Told her 2 waters. Then waited, and waited. Another woman brought silverware, but then was confused as she had thought she was told 4 silverware, but just the 2 of us. We didn't need silverware really as we had yet to order food, but we did need drinks. She was talking in a headset apparently, and ignoring us. The main waitress came by again, and told the woman, no I said 2 silverware on table 4. Meanwhile, still waiting for 2 waters. And sitting in the bar area, you wouldn't think this would take too long. The final straw was when our waitress then went to a new table where the people had just sat down and started waiting on them, while we were still waiting for waters. Decided the service was just too poor, like at Olive Garden, where we had been waiting on waters too and were thirsty, so left Red Lobster too. It shouldn't take 10 minutes to get water.

Went to Longhorn Steak for the 3rd try of the night, which was great all around.

“I go here very frequently”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I like this restaurant but they DO NOT take reservations. If you have a big party they usually seat you fast but you may wait a while for the food. My family and I go here approximately 2-3 times a month. The service overall is good. I've only had a couple of bad experiences with waitresses. The food has always been good. The bread is awesome. I always get chilly in here so wear a sweater or take a jacket.

“$5 appetizers 3-6 pm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We arrived at 5:32, at 5:40 I mentioned that we wanted to order the happy hour specials but there were 3 parties in front of us, (but the parking lot had less than 25 cars in it). At 5:58 I asked if we were still going to be able to get the happy hour specials since we had been waiting, for what appeard to be no reason. Again, they were not busy. the hostess and 2 servers were at the podium, one server said the register will only accept the $5 rate until 6pm. I told her to please put an order in for us but to hold until we got a table _the bar was empty but there were 6 of us. She was able to do that....thank goodness or we would have left. Our server was the bartender, she was very kind, knowledgeable and gave us a lot of attention. You don;t get that on a weekend they are just too busy. Anyway, the sweet chili shrimp was okay, but nothing like that of BFG, other than it was shrimp served on a bed of lettuce....but I ate it all. And we had the fried calamri and vegetables, that was awesome, should have ordered two of them.
RL is a wonderful restaurant, but be sure to go during the week, the servers are less stressed and you will enjoy the experience so much more.
Merry Christmas!

“Great seafood at a fair price...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We ate at this Colonial Heights restaurant twice during a recent stay in the area. The food was excellent and fairly priced, and the service was also good.
Definitely worth a visit.
