“Amazing food, good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

Ethiopian fare is my favorite and Addis does not disappoint. Not only if the food delicious, the service is great too... A rarity in Richmond. Thursday they have half priced entrees during happy hour. Like them on Facebook to get updates.

“Fun, amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013 via mobile

Wish we came here before our last night in town. Thus place was great, worth the money. The food is tasty, just enough spice and the right amount of food to fill you up. This is a must visit especially with friends for family style eating.

“a very pleasant meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

This is a wonderful spot in Shockhoe Bottom, close by the old train station and with parking on the street.

An exceptionally friendly owner gave some good advice for the four of us: order two meat dishes and the 5-vegetable medley and share it all.

Warm rolled-up Ethiopian sponge bread (injera) was brought with the food platter, as one eats without utensils by using a torn piece of it. An attentive waitress kept us well-supplied.

A beef dish with onions and jalapenos and a spicy chicken dish were the favorites but the vegetables were also delicious and very freshly prepared: collard greens, cabbage, potatoes and carrots, lentils and split peas.

Alcohol is served and Ethiopian wine is available.

No desserts, but everyone was so pleased with the meal that it mattered not.

Very high quality Ethiopian food at a reasonable price in an interesting setting. We'll be back.

“Had to get some Ethiopian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

The other Ethiopian restaurant in Richmond was closed for a month for remodeling, so I decided to try to find Addis on a weekend and get some Ethiopian food. There is street parking, and also if you drive to the end of the block there is a parking lot across from the farmers' market.

I ordered Tibs and Shiro Wat to go because my son doesn't eat Ethiopian. They were very generous with the delicious injera, and I felt like the portions were huge. The Tibs was pretty good, but the Shiro was amazing.... That was my favorite. If you like Ethiopian, I would definitely stop there and get some.
