Take a Segway ride around Richmond and choose the one that hits the Capitol Bldg. Great views and you ride right up to the front!

“Don't miss it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

It is a stunning building with a lot of history. The exhibits were excellent and the staff was very friendly. You will need at least an hour. We did the self guided tour but they also offer a guided tour.

“A must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

We visited Richmond with our fourth grader son. This was our second stop after Virginia Historic Society Museum. They were both great, but I wish we arrived earlier at the Capitol building, so that we could see the other buildings around it. We arrived a little passed 4, but very lucky to catch the guided tour. Please plan ahead and be there at 4 O'clock. That is the last guided tour of the day! Our tour guide was fabulous. Without a tour I don't believe we would enjoy the building this much!! Thanks to her again from here!

“Take the tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

We were blessed to have a marvelous tour guide who genuinely loved the history of the building. Unfortunately, they were in the midst of a remodel/repair on the exterior at the time, but the story of building and its interior were worth the stop.

“Lots of History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Virginia, being the first colony settled in the United States, is steeped in history. So many of our greatest predecessors hail from this state. It was really quite a trip and a peek not only into Virginia history, but US history. Our tour guide was tops. You could tell he was excited and passionate and learned about his subjects, and that just makes it all the more interesting. I definitely recommend a visit and a guided tour. I wish I'd had time to tour the grounds a bit more.

Visitor's entrance is actually below the building, in the newer renovated underground area.
