“Great Hotel for Business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

Stayed overnight on business. Modern design, friendly staff, super clean. Nice and quiet, even next to the elevator. Neighborhood is OK, although I would remain within a couple blocks.

Had two catered lunches that were good, notably the vegetables.

Can't speak to the bill; prepaid by the company.

It is very nice. Rooms clean, free coffee/tea from Starbucks in lobby in the am. Exercise room nice. It's set back off Broad Street but is in a bit of a sketchy area as evidenced by the fact that you need to enter room card to get on elevator.

Dear Jennamack, thank you for your recent stay and for taking the time to post a positive review about your stay. I am glad that you enjoyed the hotel. I would like to note that the key security in the elevator is not indicative of security concerns, rather it ensures that our guests have added security measures in place to ensure they have a positive experience in addition to the reduction of any outside soliciting of local restaurants, etc. It also keep anyone off the guestroom floors that is not supposed to be a particular floor, thus limiting the amount of hallway noise, etc. It is just an added measure that we take pride in at The Westin Richmond. Thank you for your business and we look forward to your return. Stay well, Feliks Schwartz - General Manager

The Westin is a clean hotel with a calming feel, but it's not worth the money. You have to pay $10/day for wireless access. They don't list the prices of their spa services, and the pool is very small, you are not really able to swim laps. For a business hotel, I'd hope they'd offer free breakfast each moring, but they don't.
Also, realize this is 15min drive from downtown.

Dear Cvillegal199, thank you for your recent visit to The Westin Richmond and for taking the time to share your comments. I am sorry to hear that you were dissapointed in the lack of some of our facility and services. I take all of our guest's comments very seriously as I truly believe that they only help us to improve and maintain our position as a top rated hotel in Richmond, TripAdvisor as well as a top Westin hotel in North America. That being said, I am proud to announce that we will start providing complimentary guest internet in the coming weeks as well as initiating a plan to implement a new WiFi system throughout the hotel. Additionally, I am sorry that you did not see the massage prices in the desk compendium as there should be a listing in each guestroom. I hope that you will consider staying with us for future visits to Richmond as we truly believe that we are a top choice for hotels in the area. I hope that we will see you again soon. Regards, Feliks Schwartz - General Manager

It was my first time at this hotel. I stayed for 4 nights on a business trip and other than a couple of misses with housekeeping (room wasn't cleaned completely each day but was not bad), my stay was great. The Heavenly bed is really comfortable! I didn't try the restaurant but the in-room Starbucks coffee was pretty good. I was there during inclement winter weather and was amazed at how helpful the staff was to brush off snow and chip away ice on my car to get me safely on my way. Kudos to all of you! I would recommend this hotel to others and would stay again.

Dear 1978Foodie, thank you for your recent stay at The Westin Richmond and for taking the time to write a positive review of your experience. Inclement weather is always troublesome in the travel business but I am happy that you noticed our efforts to try to make your experience a little easier by proactively cleaning off your vehicle; just a small service touch that we agree makes a difference. Thank you for noticing our efforts and we look forward to serving you again in the near future. Stay well, Feliks Schwartz - General Manager

Mainly a business hotel. Hardly anyone around when my gf and I stayed over Thanksgiving weekend. Room was great, though not especially large. Paid for access to the top floor club lounge, which was good value. Richmond is a fun place to visit.

My bf and I stayed here for one night in October after dropping a relative off at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. We were greeted by a friendly bellhop the minute we pulled up to the hotel and he promptly whisked away our luggage. The check in process was quick, and within ten minutes were were in our room on the club level floor.

The room was very large, modern, and clean. I also loved the huge bathroom with the fancy spa like shower.

Being on the club level we had access to complimentary snacks and beverages, as well as breakfast in the morning. My bf and I grabbed cookies before leaving for the night and raved about them the rest of the night. They were seriously addictive. Breakfast was also very good. There were the usual cold options like yogurt and cereal, as well as a few hot options like steel cut oatmeal and eggs. Being a fitness nut that I am, I was glad to see healthy options available. I would recommend springing for the extra $20 or so per night for the club level. It's worth it.

Also noteworthy was the woman with the NY accent who was replenishing the food in the club room. She was one of the friendliest, most accomodating people I have ever encountered at a hotel Even after the listed breakfast hours had ended, she did not hesistate grabbing me hot water for my tea or getting me additional bread to toast. She is the definition of good customer service.

Room Tip: Pay for a club level room and you won't be disappointed.

We had a terrific stay at the Westin while we were in Richmond for a conference within a few miles of the hotel. The well trained staff is courteous and friendly, and our room on the club level was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the complimentary offerings on the club level. The gym has the best set of new exercise equipment I’ve ever seen at a hotel, but the pool is small for the size of the hotel. We enjoyed the delicious dinner so much that we invited some of the participants of the conference to eat lunch with us the next day at the Westin and our colleagues concurred about the quality of the food. We recommend this hotel very highly as one of the best hotels in Richmond.
