We have always loved Embassy Suites. They have wonderful rooms, a fantastic breakfast and just an overall fantastic atmosphere. BUT! This first part is our fault: We went to breakfast at 730, not thinking to put the "Do not disturb" sign on our door. Who needs that so early, right? When we came back from breakfast, the maid was there doing what she does. No big deal. Like I said, my fault. We generally do not opt for maid service unless staying more that a couple nights. I was bothered because not only was my purse lying out wide open, but also cash, cell phones, camera and tickets (GREAT tickets) to the Nascar race. If the maid had been dishonest, lord knows what may have happened. Not 15 minutes later, though, my husband and I were sitting in the living area when someone knocked on our door once, and before we could respond, entered our room. He didn't address himself, didn't call out as housekeeping or anyone else. He just saw us then said, "I just wanted to make sure everything was alright." We just looked at him dumbfounded and he left. Who the hell was this? Was he coming back to help himself to our stuff?? The way I look at it, we rented the room, so that makes it OURS until we open the door for you. Unless there is a FIRE or other EMERGENCY, stay the heck out!! He didn't know whether we were dressed, not dressed, in the middle of "something"...who knows!! VERY rude to say the least and still quite dumbfounded by this unproffesionalism when everything else went so well.

Dear Sara B, We are sorry to have greatly upset you by the failure to not wait the appropriate amount of time before our housekeeping manager entered your room. The attendants will try to service a room if they see the guest leave to go to breakfast in efforts to have it completed before your return. Completed rooms are inspected for quality and training. I have shared your comment with our manager so he knows how much this disturbed you and to make sure he always waits long enough and always announces his function. He sends his apologies for rushing and feels terrible, realizing he upset you and your party. We were pleased to read you enjoyed our atmosphere, thought your room was wonderful, and thought our breakfast was fantastic!
