“Third visit this year.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

This is a convenient place for us to spend a weekend with friends, and the hotel seems to get better with each visit. We have stayed at about 35 Embassy Suites over the years, and we agree that the snacks at the manager's reception here rank very high--first or second--among all of them. Everything else is up to Embassy Suites standards. We were disappointed that the bathroom contained only a shower---no tub---but that is minor.

Dear Valued Guest, We look forward to your return to our Embassy Suites Hotel in Richmond. Our tropical atrium is one of a kind in Richmond and is great for visiting, especially with our Manager’s Reception. Our staff takes pride in taking care of our guests and thank you for sharing your thoughts. For future, our suites with double beds have bathtubs as do a portion of our first floor accessible rooms. We hope to see you again soon! Yours in Hospitality, Kathleen Lyons, General Manager

We were here for a wedding week-end. Our room was very nice and also clean. My husband stays in Embassy Suites quite regularly for work, but, this was my first stay. We were there during a NASCAR week-end so it was very crowded. The halls were noisy early in the evening, but, did quiet down. It was quiet inside the room. The managers welcome was very nice although my husband has had better food served. Breakfast was also very good. All in all a good stay.

We chose Embassy Suites in Richmond VA for the out-of town guests at our daughter's wedding. Since we do not live in Richmond, we stayed at the hotel as well. We had some last minute changes as alterations to guests' travel plans required an additional 4 rooms the first night and additional changes later. The front desk staff together with coordinator Lisa Jeffries met our every need with smiles and helpful grace. Stewart, Bobby and Kate (and others) at the front desk soon knew most of our large party by name and were warm and helpful through our entire stay. The breakfast was fantastic and Missy and Mike and Maris (and others) run a very efficient, clean and tasty operation. The omlets were especially good. One morning, the hotel was hosting a conference of law clerks and a group of advocates for rights for the disabled. Even with the hotel full, breakfast came off without a hitch - no waiting. The suites were a pleasant surprise for all the guests. They were clean and spacious. The manager's reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm gave our party another opportunity to meet and chat. The warm and friendly nature of the staff seems to rub off on the customers and we ended up having very pleasant conversations and interactions with many of the other guests.

The hotel is warm, friendly, with extremely capable staff and great facilities. I HIGHLY recommend it for any occasion.

We have always loved Embassy Suites. They have wonderful rooms, a fantastic breakfast and just an overall fantastic atmosphere. BUT! This first part is our fault: We went to breakfast at 730, not thinking to put the "Do not disturb" sign on our door. Who needs that so early, right? When we came back from breakfast, the maid was there doing what she does. No big deal. Like I said, my fault. We generally do not opt for maid service unless staying more that a couple nights. I was bothered because not only was my purse lying out wide open, but also cash, cell phones, camera and tickets (GREAT tickets) to the Nascar race. If the maid had been dishonest, lord knows what may have happened. Not 15 minutes later, though, my husband and I were sitting in the living area when someone knocked on our door once, and before we could respond, entered our room. He didn't address himself, didn't call out as housekeeping or anyone else. He just saw us then said, "I just wanted to make sure everything was alright." We just looked at him dumbfounded and he left. Who the hell was this? Was he coming back to help himself to our stuff?? The way I look at it, we rented the room, so that makes it OURS until we open the door for you. Unless there is a FIRE or other EMERGENCY, stay the heck out!! He didn't know whether we were dressed, not dressed, in the middle of "something"...who knows!! VERY rude to say the least and still quite dumbfounded by this unproffesionalism when everything else went so well.

Dear Sara B, We are sorry to have greatly upset you by the failure to not wait the appropriate amount of time before our housekeeping manager entered your room. The attendants will try to service a room if they see the guest leave to go to breakfast in efforts to have it completed before your return. Completed rooms are inspected for quality and training. I have shared your comment with our manager so he knows how much this disturbed you and to make sure he always waits long enough and always announces his function. He sends his apologies for rushing and feels terrible, realizing he upset you and your party. We were pleased to read you enjoyed our atmosphere, thought your room was wonderful, and thought our breakfast was fantastic!
We hope to see you again for the next race! Best Regards, Kathleen Lyons, General Manager

From check-in to check out the staff was courteous, friendly and more than willing to make our staff meet our expectations. The room was clean, well stocked with towels, etc had a beautiful bathroom with walk in shower as we had requested a handicapped room. The microwave, fridge and coffee maker allowed us to cool or heat up anything we wanted. The pool area was lovely with large fluffy towels and even had a lift to allow our handicapped mother to get into the poor or whirlpool. Breakfast was great, excellant omelets and delicious fruit. Happy hour had good drinks, kicking sangaria and assorted crackers, spreads and fruit. The courtesy shuttle was great as we attended a wedding and they picked us up from the reception. Just wanted to give them a thumbs up and say how good a job HR has done in instilling superior service as a priority. Would recommend this hotel and would stay her again.

Room Tip: First floor convenient to pool, atrium and lobby. Great for elderly travelers.

We always look for embassy suites because of the nice courtyard style lobbies, indoor pool, late weekend checkout and the bkfst. This property fits the model of clean, nicely appointed rooms, with helpful staff. We also like pushing the kids into the ante room, so they can play their games and see movies, while we relax.

Stayed here one weekend night in Aug in a King Suite. Used our Hilton Honors Points and they gave us a handicapped room . It had a shower with no tub. Would have been nice if the front desk disclosed this . Room clean, bed comfy.

Huge hotel , beautiful atrium--breakfast was very crowded, but that can be expected for a weekend.

Will stay again.
